In early-April I called Grant Renne & Sons for an estimate to repair my sinking front steps and leaking sump pump pipe. Ross Renne came out on April 9th and listened to all my questions and looked at each problem area. Within a couple of days I received an easy-to-read estimate by email and USPS. I called with a question and Ross promptly returned my call and answered my question. In addition, Nancy was very helpful when I called another to accept the estimate and schedule the work. She gave me some good pointers and told me what she could do for me about my scheduling concerns ? getting the work done before two upcoming events at the house that would take many people up and down those steps.
The work got scheduled within my time-frame, and it was done on May 12 and 13. The mud-jacking was done by a thorough and courteous man, Stephen, who knew what he was doing but who also was not afraid to ask me questions to make sure I was satisfied. He was easy to talk to and kept me apprised of his schedule while keeping the work going forward.
Ross Renne returned the next day to complete the pipe repair and perform tuck pointing on the concrete work. The sump pump no longer leaks. Not only that but it runs much more quietly now because of how he installed the section of pipe! I am well-pleased with all this company's work.

We were very happy with service with regards to initial estimate and ideas provided that would best take care of the problem.  Work  was completed as promised.  Only reservation was with regard to amount and start time of work each day.  Some days workers arrived a little late.  Also, it seemed like work could have been completed in 4 days instead of 5.  Would not hesitate to recommend or use again.

From the first contact with this provider it just seemed right.  Personable, reliable, honest, professional--all the attributes you want from a contractor.  The job went as scheduled.  The crew was great.  I feel like they took great care with the house to make sure everything went exactly as planned .   They have been in business over 100 years and now I have experienced why.  Great business to work with.

It was extraordinary. They were able to grasp the problem and fix it. They did not overcharge me for it either. They have a good term that if I don’t like the work, I can call them back to fix it again.

After taking estimates, I was impressed with the honesty, explanation of recommendations for addressing foundation cracks, and comparing prices, i selected Grant Renne to perform the work. Over 2 separate occasions they installed a total of about 6 I Beams in support of basement walls that were moving, and they injected some cracks that had appeared, all on 3 different walls of our basement. They did not try to sell me more than they thought we needed to secure the foundation. Other companies had recommened much more extensive work for significantly more money. The work was efficient, the crews very polite, and cleaned up afterward. I have been very satisified, and would recommend them for any foundation work needed.

Mr Renne came out to make a bid.  I had a flooding in my basement, and he advised me on different options (repair the crack, install a sump pump, or even larger changes). He pointed out the crack in the wall and advised that repairing it would be the best course of action, even if it was also the cheapest option.  They did the work on time and exactly how we had agreed.

They were punctual.  Got the job done sooner than expected.  Staff was friendly and ready to answer any questions asked.  When they were finished they left the area clean.

Estimate was provided promptly and professionally. 
Repair was scheduled according to a schedule that was agreeable.
Repair was done according to specs and per schedule.
I did have to call them back to add more landscape rock, which, after inspection, they did promptly and without complaint.
All-in-all they did a good job and I would recommend them without hesitation.

They did a good a good job. The work is high quality and they are very professional. They have been in business for over a hundred years. The third generation is running the company now. It is a high quality company. I would use their services again.

The driveway had sunk to the point where our cars had trouble getting into the garage.  I called Grant Renne and asked for options on either mudjacking or replacing the driveway.  The estimator/project manager was very professional and easy to work with.  He gave us prices on both options.  I checked with some neighbors who had similar work done recently and Grant Renne's price was as good or better than others.  We decided to replace the driveway and told Grant Renne to put us on their schedule.  The project manager gave us a anticipated starting date and kept us posted as to when the crew would arrive.  The crew (Jeremy and his dad, Bud) did an excellent job and were very good at letting us know what they were going to do and what had been done at the end of each day's work.  They were careful in doing the tear out and replacement and the new driveway looks great.  We are very pleased with how they did the work..

We had planned on getting piers placed from the front door around the house to the back door due to settling issues with a split level  home. However between receiving the bid ($14500) and the scheduled start date we had some financial issues and were only able to afford a partial job. I called and explained our situation and they were willing to work with us.
We agreed on a start date, they arrived on time and set to work. Once they raised the house it became obvious that the patio would need to be piered as well. The supervisor came by and explained the new plan and showed us the issue.
The next work day they set to work on the patio - a 2 day job. Once that was complete the house was level again!
Day 5 was filling in the holes and cleaning up the work area.

The crew was polite and easy to work with. They were there when promised. Each day they left the work area neat and clean. Overall it was relatively painless. I would not hesitate to recommend this company, We are very happy with the work.

The basement had had water issues since I moved in -- not major but enough so that when I went to remodel it, I decided I needed to correct it. Grant Renne and Sons first installed the drainage system (to lead to my sump pump) across half of my east wall, but when the next rain had some water entering the non-drainage part of the east wall, I had them come out and extend the system. Since that time I've had no problems with water in the basement and am finishing up the remodeling.

Job went great.  What can I say -  I've stopped checking my basement after it rains - I know it's still going to be dry.

We had a wooden retaining wall that had started to lean over and the stone wall had started to crack in a few places. Neither of the existing walls had any drain tile and the wooden wall did not have a footing or deadmen in place. After contacting Grant Renne, Mark came out to give us a bid for removing the existing walls and rebuilding them will all stone. This initial bid was done in April. We decided to go with Grant Renne after getting several other bids. Work was scheduled to begin towards the end of June. Unfortunately due to scheduling problems on their side as well as ours, work was not actually begun until sometime in September. Once the work was started we ran into a few delays due to weather. Calvin and his crew were great! Very personable and more than willing to answer any questions we had. We did ask for a couple of small changes during the course of the project. One was to add some steps into the wall and the other was to extend the drain tile out under the deck to meet up with some other drainage on the property. We had a couple of small problems during the project. One was that when the stone (several tons) was staged, it was all dumped onto the wooden deck without anything done to try to protect the deck. The other problem was that much of the old broken concrete was dumped into the treeline behind the fence which couldn't be seen until you were in the second floor of the house. I did talk to Calvin about both issues and he moved the stones and placed them all on tarps at least and the old concrete was hauled away. After the work was done, I did have to call Grant Renne back a couple of times due to some of the stones coming loose after the concrete dried. They came back both times to fix the loose stones without any questions. Overall this was a good experience.

They did a good job and they were reasonably priced.

Mark Keyes was so sweet. He explained everything that happened to cause the damage to the home and what needed to be done. We had contacted 2 other companies, and what they suggested didn?t make sense and cost more money. Calvin Ward, Elton Jones, and Kenny Brown were amazing! Their work ethic was great! They worked hard and fast and were always pleasant. It was like having family in the house. The digging got very messy, but they always cleaned up after themselves every day. If you need any foundation work done, call them- you will be very pleased with the results!
