Everything went perfectly. Eric was incredibly professional, as always. He painted 4 rooms in my home beautifully. He is a consummate professional. He is the only person I will call for painting, wallpaper removal and carpet installation. Eric has done all three services in my home over the last three years and is excellent. A+.

Many people comment on Eric’s punctuality – and it is true that Eric always arrives when he says he will – but Eric’s qualities reach far beyond being on time…Eric is a perfectionist in the way that you always hope and dream a service provider will be…making sure the job is done right and treating your house with care and respect. There was not a drop of paint on any non-wall surface, as Eric has taken time to understand the science and art of painting. He also had a wonderful assistant who helped him, and she was excellent to work with as well. Eric is willing to be flexible with your schedule – but we trusted him 100% to come and work while we were away. The other wonderful thing about Eric is that he is able to transition to other types of work projects with ease and skill (as you will see on his reviews including carpet installation, popcorn ceiling removal, etc.). I honestly feel like I could ask for his help with any home project and know that he would figure out the best way to complete the project and do it with excellence. After he completed the original painting project, he returned to scrape and paint the all of our windows, as they were peeling inside and out. He also repainted all the flooring trim on the first floor and upstairs hallway – after a floor refinishing job had scraped and stained all the wood trim. Then he even helped us fix several areas of wood rot around our exterior windows. I had several wood rot companies out to estimate – but in the end, I’m confident Eric’s work exceeded the work of a wood rot expert!
When Eric comes to complete your estimate, he will probably seem quiet and shy, and he is willing to go about his job without ever disturbing you beyond discussing the basics of the job with you. But I got to know Eric personally while he worked on our house – and therefore I can speak to Eric’s qualities beyond his incredible skills and workmanship – and say that Eric is fair, ethical, genuine, intelligent, witty, and yes…punctual too. I cannot think of another individual who I would recommend more to come into your home and help you with your painting needs – and more!

We hired Eric Wahlen to remove wallpaper in four rooms, and to prepare the walls for painting. This is some of the best money we have spent on our home! The wallpaper (ugly) was original to the house and was not properly sized in places, making the removal difficult. But Eric did the job very well. The job involved a large kitchen, large master bath (with shower room), and two smaller bathrooms. Each had one layer of wallpaper which was really stuck on. I tried removing wallpaper in another room and was happy to hire this out to someone who could do a good job. Eric was that person. He and his assistants worked on the job for several days. One of the first materials he used was Dawn dishsoap which actually made the house smell nice and I was glad there was no toxic or chemical smell in my house. He sealed the walls with a product he recommended, and the walls were spackled and sanded so they would be ready to paint. I wanted to paint the rooms myself to save costs and Eric was agreeable and easy to work with regarding this. He and his crew were careful and paid attention to the details. They were careful to seal off the rooms with plastic so that dust did not blow through the house. Also they cleaned up as they went along (wallpaper removal is messy). Since they finished, I have painted one room and found the walls to be in very good shape (smooth, clean surfaces) thanks to the work that he did. Although I did not hire him to do the painting portion, I believe that he would have done an excellent, careful job with that too, paying attention to the detail. When I spoke with him about the wallpaper removal process he seemed knowledgable about the products, and had experience with the process. He arrived on time and did the job in the number of days that he estimated. The removal of the wallpaper completely transformed our house in a positive way. I would not hesitate to hire him again. We are very happy with the work he did.

Installation was on time, professional, and well priced. Eric provided an estimate, available dates and followed through. The installation of wool pad and carpet with a tough linear pattern went flawlessly. Due to dimensions of the space some creative splicing was required. Eric's solution resulted in an excellent execution and a beautiful master bedroom.

We purchase carpet and pad from a third party and needed a local installer. Eric came to our home promptly to provide a detailed and accurate estimate. The final bill matched the original estimate, which was much appreciated. Eric was able to schedule our job within a week of the original estimate. The work was completed well, on time, and on budget. Eric was also very thoughtful about the disruption to our lives that this work represented. Recognizing that our laundry room was in the basement, he kept pad on the stairs so that we could still access the laundry room in the basement. Eric was highly professional and we very much appreciated working with him.

Eric showed up promptly for an estimate a day after I called him. He spent about 20-30 minutes going through his measurements and writing up a proposal. It wasn't a huge job so he was able to fit me in relatively quickly. I said I would purchase the carpet so his proposal was for labor only and was reasonable. He and a single worker showed up to install the carpet a week or so later. There were a few areas where the poured concrete floor was uneven, Eric evened these areas out with a compound and then proceeded to lay the carpet. Padding was only used on the stair case. They finished in less than a full day and I was very pleased with the work. 1 month later I am still very pleased with Eric's work and would hire him again.

Eric is the ultimate professional - a young man of great integrity and very very particular in what he does. Every detail of the work was done on time, including long days of hard work. Cleanup was equally impeccable. We cleared the small things from the rooms so furniture removal was quick and efficient. I would most highly recommend Eric to anyone! He is most skilled and you can tell his work and his word are important to him.

Mr. Wahlen is extemely professional and punctual. He removed our ceiling popcorn, which was a very large job. He was extremely careful in his room preperation and cleanup was always done. This was a messy job, but, with his cleanliness my furniture and flooring was dust free. He has great work ethic and very easy to work with. We also had him replace carpet several times due to water in the basement. All work was done with complete satisfaction. He laid our carpet after we had iron spindals put in on our stairways. He did a fantastic job on this as well. We had a party planned and he was able to put it in on a tight schedule. He went above and beyond for us and I would recommend him highly.

Eric brought carpet samples to the house. I custom ordered the carpet and it It took over a month for the mill to make the carpet due to the slowdown in the economy. Eric installed the carpet and padding beautifully, with much attention to detail. He is courteous, professional, and honest. There was no sales pressure. He and his uncle did the installation in about three hours, including clean up.

Eric was great at all tasks and did excellent plaster prep work. He did amazing cleanup each night and was always prompt at arriving on the job at the time he said he would. I would hire him anytime again, and would definitely recommend his services to anyone. He also went above and beyond to finish the job on the projected time (even when we added additional tasks throughout the project).

It went very well. The carpeting is absolutely beautiful and has a beautiful black, brown and gold vine pattern to it. It is by Shaw and cost less than half than the other bids I received. I received bids ranging from $1500-$3,000 but Eric removed the old carpet, installed the new with padding and even made 2 little area rugs for me with the leftover carpeting for $650! It is gorgeous and we couldn't be happier. Eric is a master carpet installer and a perfectionist. He cares about his work and is a pleasure to work with!

Eric arrived exactly on time every morning. He stripped the wallpaper, repaired the walls and then sealed/primed with GARDZ. It took 3 1/2 days as the people who built my home put the wallpaper directly onto the drywall without priming or sizing. He cleaned up after he was done. Eric is extremely professional and works very quietly. He was meticulous. I have no hesitation in recommending him. He is a rare find. Price was very reasonable.
