This is by far the worst heating and cooling company! I like many other homeowners was unfortunately selected to have my A/C serviced by Del's. After notifying (HMS) about water leaking from my furnace onto the basement floor. The service technician Robert called my 4 hours earlier than my appointment was scheduled. I told him I get off work at 2:30pm which my appointment was supposed to be after 3pm. Robert seemed very annoyed by this and made it very clear, with his horrible attitude. I was quite turned off and reluctant to allow him to service my unit after the phone call. However I know water collecting on the basement floor is not good for the foundation. So I knew it needed to addressed and resolved. Robert arrived he still seemed a little agitated. I lead him to the basement. He observes the water leaking from the furnace. Unscrews a couple of screws and sticks his hand in the unit and said it not froze up. He then precedes to disconnect the drain holes from the bottom of the furnace. He blows through it with his mouth. A little water comes out. He says "yeah that was probably it, it was something clogging the holes. I looked near the end of the drain and notice nothing. The same amount of water that was dripping from the holes. Prior to him blowing through it was the same amount after he blow through. He took also unscrewed a pipe which had quite a bit of water leaking from it. Screws it back on. He then says yeah I think that was the problem. I asks how much I owe him. He say your deductible is $100. It took him every bit of 20mins to unscrew a drain and a pipe one of which he blow through with his mouth as a means of resolving the leaking from the unit. Later that night I return to the basement to check for any leaking. There was still water collecting on the basement floor. I immediately called HMS. Tell the customer service representative about the whole ordeal. She says she will issue a recall. I ask if I could have another provider other than Del's. She says I have to allow them back so they can honor my previous deductible. I finally was able to schedule the second appointment after many calls to Del's. I again was unfortunate to be assigned to Robert the same technician as before. He calls me to say he's on his way. He will be here within 20-30mins. Also that he will take a look at the unit again but if the drain or pipe have to be replaced my deductible will not cover it. I say okay a whole hour passes by. He calls my phone by time I try to answer it he hangs up. Twice I call him back phone automatically keeps going to voicemail in which. I was unable to leave a message because it was full. I am completely blown away at this technician. Obviously he misdiagnosed the problem. The drain holes was

The size of the opening was different from the former oven--the new one was significantly taller but not quite as wide.  the electrical outlet was all there, so they did not have to install electricity.  But the switch box was not properly marked, so they had to test to get the right switch figured out.  They did a fine job adapting the cabinet space to accommodate the taller oven, and making the installation look decent even though the new unit was slightly less wide.  They tested the unit, explained the operation of it to us, and left us pleased with our new in-wall oven.

Everything went well and satisfied but they did not replace the 27 yr old drain hose from the furnace which clogged flooded basement, ruined priceless photos and tapes of the children growing up, also ruined electronic equipment. When called to come out they wanted to charge us a service call. They unclogged the plastic hose (still didn't replace it) and were told we need to periodically make sure it doesn't clog.

They were on time and very professional. I had R Mech Heating and cooling out on an Angies List special, $39.00 for for a 20 piont inspection. They told me I needed a new compressor which would cost $1500.00 to replace. I have a home warranty plan for which I pay an $85.00 deductible and would have it repaired by them. They sent a technician out from Del's Apliance Heating and cooling. They told me I needed a new hard start capacitor which cost $20.00.

They did an excellent job, measured our home to insure we were matched with the correct systems. They are prompt, polite and did excellent work. They even replaced the concrete slab for the A/C unit. They cleaned up afterwards could not tell they had even been there. They did not try to sell unneeded accessories and came in exactly on their bid. Would recommend them highly

I had a new furnace installed, but it was faulty. and it took them two months before they finally agreed to install another one. Both furnaces had a howling noise and they tried to tell me it was in the duct work. Well, it was not, it was the humidifier. I had to call someone else to find out what the howling noise was because they could not figure out what it was. Now the furnace and humidifier work fine.

Microwave broken - had to wait 3 days for service rep (thought it was 2 days, they didn't show and said they had it down for the next day).  He just took the Microwave out and back to the shop (on a Thursday) and said it would be the next Monday before they knew anything.  Didn't hear back until I called the next Tuesday - they said repairs would cost more than the Microwave was worth.  I could buy a new one from them and apply 1/2 of the $50 service call to the purchase/installation it,, but they didn't have any black ones.  I would need to figure out what I wanted, tell them so they could order it, then wait several days for it to come in.  I elected to go elsewhere where I could see what I was buying, where it was "in stock" and have them install it.

I especially like the owner. He was just very personable and very concern trying to educate us on stuffs. I was very pleased with them and I would use them again. Except, my dryer is still  not what I wanted it to be because since we bought it, there were already problems arising. I don't regret having Del's TV & Appliance work on my dryer.

Overall it went well because the leak was fixed. The tech was nice and he did a good job in good time. He didn't quote me the price to repair, just repaired it. Not a big deal, considering it was only $25, but it's always nice to know beforehand. Serviceman put debris from clog(corossion and styrofoam) in my sink and left it, which I thought was unprofessional. at least he told me so I could remove it myself. Service call was cheaper than most, $49.

I called Del's at 4:30pm on a Tuesday when I noticed my house was not cooling, no fan blowing air from vents and over 100 degrees outside. I was told that Del was "south" of the city and it would be an emergency service call and they would charge me $99.50 just for coming to my house. Because I was desperate and could not find another service person who was not "booked" I agreed to this extra charge. Del arrived very quickly which I appreciated. He quickly determined that my fan circuit board was out and replaced it. The entire service call took less than 1 hour. The shocker came when he gave me my bill:  Another $98.50 for the "remove and install",  and then $395.80 for the part! When I expressed surprise at the cost of the part, Del informed me that " it was a very expensive part". He charged me a total of $625.40 for replacing my main fan control board in my lennox system. After Del left, I searched the part online and found the Lennox part he charged me $395.80  for was seiling for $90-to $110. Today I had my regular heating and cooling company come out and clean my furnace service call. (Major reputable heating and cooling company) I showed him the part that Del's had installed and he confirmed to me that it was a standard $100 part. He told me they never charge more than $200 for this part and that includes the labor to install it. So doing the math, I realize that Del took extreme advantage of me and overcharged me about $300.00 to fix my furnace fan board. He can reply to this and deny if he wants to but after much thought about what happened I felt that the responsible thing to do would be to report how he really "stuck it to me".. Thanks for nothing Del.

Overall the experience went well.  Jason was the person who diagnosed the problem and replaced the unit.  He had a assistant with him when he originally came however he did not have the unit readily available for replacement so he came back a couple of days afterwards to replace it.  Jason was friendly and his assistants were friendly as well.  Jason wanted and was happy to do the work.  He was quick, looked and talked like he was doing the job in a quality manner.  He cleaned up after his work was performed.  Both Jason and his assistant had clothing on which was appropriate for the work they did.  He was gracious in the manner he completed the work and when he left.  Very polite person.  His assistants were good as well.  I would recommend other angieslist members this contractor.

After coming home from an outing we noticed our house was very hot. It was late, so no service available at that time, just opened windows and used fans, miserable. Called Del's first thing in the morning and spoke with Lynn. I explained to him the situation and the sounds coming from the unit. He said he had just left my area and was in South KC already, asked if later in the evening would be fine. I told him that was fine, I would just send my wife and kids over to the parents house for the day. He asked how many kids we had, I told him three plus two that we watch during the day. "Five kids?!" he exclaimed. "I just turned around and I'll be there in 30 minutes, what's your address?". I told him it wasn't necessary, but he insisted. When he arrived, he knocked on the door. I let him in around the back of the house to look at the unit. He pulled the side off and said, "quick and easy fix". He ended up replacing the capacitor to the fan motor. "The one that came with the unit was a very cheap part", he said. He said the replacements they use now are made with a better quality dielectric material and wouldn't give out as quickly as the last one did. He got it replaced, told me to kick on the unit and turn it down to 68 degrees. He did some preventative maintenance on the unit, including checking Freon levels, pressures, cleaning the coils well, etc. He then explained that with the humidity, it will seem like it's not cooling the house for most of the day, but it will be blowing cold air. He said the unit has to condition the air and remove the humidity, before it can make any progress on actually cooling, but it definitely would not get hotter inside. He explained that for most of the day, we'll see lots of water coming out of the drain tubing in our furnace room, and that's the unit removing the humidity. "If it doesn't get better by this evening and actually start cooling the house, call me, here's my card, I'll be out until about 8pm tonight." The bill was only $172 for parts and labor. He was right, steady temperature most of the day, then around 4pm, the house finally cooled off to our normal temperature. Great experience overall.

It went great. They were helpful on the phone, and came out right away. Others who claimed same day service were unable to come on the same day. I recommend them highly. Ask for Lynn, the owner, if you have any concerns whatsoever.
