It wasn’t a completely satisfactory service. The fan drying of the carpet did not work and it caused mildew. They had to come back out and re-do the carpeting as well as the pads underneath. They had to remove it all because it was ruined at that point. They did this for no additional cost.
Description of Work: We had a finished basement that flooded. They came out the same night we called. They removed sections of drywall, drilled holes in our cabinetry, and they attempted to fan-dry the carpet.

First water damage they came immediately cleaned the water. There was water leaking through to first floor and into other rooms. They had to set up blowers for three days and cut open ceiling to dry inside. The second time the water was contained, they checked if there was any wetness under the floors. They cleaned it up quickly and cost $150.
Description of Work: I have used them twice. Both times my furnace leaked on the 2nd floor. The first time there was water damage through the floor and into ceiling of first floor (cost about $2500) second time water was contained so cost $150 to clean up water.

We had water damage in our basement (burst pipe inside a wall) that we discovered at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday. The co-owner of the company answered the phone and headed straight to our house, clear across Kansas City and Johnson County. He charged a VERY reasonable trip charge and VERY reasonable after-hours charge (it was after 5 p.m. when he arrived and got to work). They took care to provide ONLY what was needed, but they didn't skimp on taking care of the water. The co-owner was courteous and friendly. He took pains to make sure we understood what was needed, and why it was needed. He and his crew moved furniture and belongings with great care. He didn't charge extra when more drying time was needed.
Description of Work: Moved furniture. Put drainage holes in drywall and cabinets (neatly). Placed dehumidifier and drying fans. Placed wall drying unit. Treated with mold & mildew inhibitor. Removed and replaced damaged drywall. Repainted. Installed access panel for future pipe maintenance.

Description of Work: Labor Day Weekend downpour flooded my basement when the sump pump failed. Found the damage 9/1/12 am and called several top rated water removers from Angie's List. Guess they were busy because not a d*** one answered or retirned my calls. Used Service Magic and D&D called immediately. They were also very busy, but said they could get me tomorrow(Sun 9/2). Still no one from Angie's List is returning calls. Thought I'd get some bids, but went with D&D when no one else called. Five guys, three trucks, and 50 fans showed up at 4 pm Sunday and worked til midnight. Because they carpet wasn't woth saving, I had them tear it out. Pulled the baseboards and dried the floor and walls. Left a bunch of fans and two large dehumidifiers for 4 or 5 more days to be sure everything was dry. Saved me big $ not having to have any mold removed because they were prompt and dried things out quick. You don't know these companies exist until you need one. There isn't much opportunity to be selective in a disaster, so I just got lucky. If you need someone in a pinch, don't waste you time calling the others. They won't answer when you need them most. Call Mike and he'll call you back. Told me he had a big weekend at the lake planned, but worked 4 days straight helping desperate people like me. You know what? I believe him.
