I would like to commend Busy Beever Estate Sales for helping my husband and me with our estate sale in July.
In our preparations to build our retirement home out of state, we knew that now was the time to downsize our belongings.
The team at Busy Beever did everything possible to make this as easy as possible. Thanks to Kevin and his sales team, we were able to sell most of our big ticket items and I was extremely impressed with his negotiation skills. It was well worth the effort and I would highly recommend this business to anyone in need of this type of service.
"Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate your business... but we also appreciate you as a person. You were always available. You offered us your support from day one and you never wavered in any decision. You were a great client and you allowed us to do what we do. It was a pleasure to provide our services to you and your family and we wish you the very best."
They worked very, very hard to make our sale a success. They were very nice to work with, professional, courteous, punctual, and flexible. They went above and beyond what other providers would have done to make sure our sale was a success, keeping in mind the feelings of the family. While other companies told us to just turn over the keys and come back when the sale was done, Busy Beever welcomed us to be as involved as we wanted to be and that meant a lot to us. There was so much stuff to sort through, we couldn't look through everything before they began. They carefully put personal items aside for us to sort through later and when we found a few items for sale that meant a lot to the family, we were allowed to withdraw them from the sale. If we had gone with another company, I feel these items would have been gone forever as we were told we should not attend the sale. Their efforts were very much appreciated and I would definitely use their services again.
"Not everyone will take the time to do the right thing... or to offer a kind word... and you did them both and we thank you. This was a very fun sale for us. We work every day to earn our customers trust and you remind us that it is always easy to make the right decisions for our clients. We appreciate your comments and we will continue to work hard every day to earn the trust of our next client. When we receive any referral, it sends us a message that we are doing the right things every day. Thank you for trusting us with your sale."
"Thank you for your comment. We know it takes effort to go to one of these sites and we appreciate you for doing this."
Having been advertised as a "Diggers Sale" we expected that there would be large quantities of items and that things may or may not be clean and orderly. So it was of no surprise that items were not clean and that pieces that belonged together were not in the same location. Again, we expected some issues such as these.
What we did not expect is that the staff would be incredibly rude and have a generally poor attitude toward the people shopping at this sale. And as far as the "name your own price"; that was not the case. It took us about an hour to shop the items and put lids with pans, match pieces, etc. When we were ready to pay, we were not treated well at all. I say this for several reasons.
There was a small box of broken pieces. Mostly handles that had broken off of the pots or serving dishes. When we took it to the front the cashier was # 1) very rude and #2) intentionally deceiving. Very unbecoming of an estate sale service which is based wholly on sales. But the shocking part is that this particular sale was in a place of religion and both the cashier and another person/helper were intentionally deceitful.
How were they deceiving? First they represented the items I had chosen as "silver". Then when I said I couldn't use them if they were silver their reply was "Oh, that's not silver; that's silver plated." Twice, at two separate times by two separate people that represented Busy Beever, LLC; they tried to charge according "to the silver weight" and twice they changed when I said if it was silver it would not be of use to me. Again, the items were unmarked and signs around the room said no reasonable off refused. What is a reasonable price for 26 broken pieces of dishes? The price was not based what the items were worth, the price was based on the bill I happened to pull from my pocket.
Finally, after the price was quoted and after the money was taken; the two of them reached into the box and removed at least two items. I was shocked, my sister was upset and I just thought it was time to go.
What a shame that a service that usually caters to families of deceased individuals; be so dishonest and so rude with the buying public. If you have a need for Estate Sale services; please heed the above warning. If they will be dishonest on this level for $20; how dishonest are they when the cash values are considerably more?
"Let me thank you you for making the effort to comment on our company. I will address your comments with as much detail as possible. 1. You are correct that this was a "Digger Sale" and the items were not always displayed in the most organized fashion. We took this sale as we offered to make it happen fast and get it to the public as fast as possible. When these types of sales happen, not everything always gets the full Busy Beever treatment but the client knew this going in. We always do everything we can with every sale to make it the best experience we can for both buyer and seller. 2. You are correct... this was a "name your own price" type sale. We have a agreement with every sale to get the most out of every item for our client... in this case, the Synagogue. While not every offer can be accepted, we try to sell as much as possible for the most we feel an item can bring based on our years of selling experience. Early in the sale... prices are less flexible as there are so many people walking through the doors and we want to maximize the funds for our client. As the sale goes forward, the prices almost always go down and on the final day of most sales... deals are to be had. 3. You stated you were not treated well. There is never an excuse for this and I sincerely apologize as we would never intentionally try to upset any buyer. While we are human and the days do get long, we work hard to make sure the attitude of our people are always positive, professional and inviting. If I were to ever witness this at one of our sales it would be stopped immediately and a apology would be in order. We have changed over multiple employees over the last few months as we became aware of some attitudes that needed to be changed. These are not excuses, they are simply explanations of how we manage our company. We expect every person who does any job for us to be a professional. Words are all I have to offer my sincere apology. We appreciate your business and we know trust is earned and not freely given. We work hard to earn your trust every day. We hope you will give us another try."
