WOW - they showed up on a Sunday to take care of our repair within an hour. They were honest and professional. We will definitely use them again!!!

My roof looks great but when installing the gutters they caused half of my house to lose power. It happened the same day that they were out there working but the owner told me I would have to call an electrician out to "prove" that it was their company. The outlet was all black and looked like it had been blown up. All fuses were OK. As a single woman, I did not appreciate that kind of treatment from the owner of a company.

Two men worked for about 1/2 hour. Dropped a small amount of debris which they did not pick up, but it was not in the way, so that was not an issue for me. They did not call ahead that they were coming, although they needed access to electrical outlet; I was at home so that was not a problem.  Since I was not on the roof, I could not tell for sure how they did, but it seemed to be a pretty good job.  Looked like they used a leaf blower to check that downspouts were clear. Price was reasonable but not great; you could get a somewhat better deal by shopping around.

Emailed Joe about replacing a boot on my roof that was inverted.  Great response time ~ he stopped by over the weekend since we are in the same neighborhood.  He advised the boot didn't need replacing ~ he popped it out and sealed it.  Easy and friendly.  Honest and will use again.  Thanks, Joe!

The Owner came out and discussed the scope of work with me. I received the estimate the same day. The work was scheduled. It only took about 3 - 4 hours for them to complete. They did an excellent job. I will be using them again in the spring for more work.

Very professionally done.
Quality indicators:
1. We haven't found one roofing nail, despite the 4 layers of roofing materials removed from the house.
2. Additional roof vents were installed to avoid ice dams in the winter, and to let the superhot air out in the summer.
3. The original gutters were undersized for the amount of runoff, and tended to get blocked up by leaves. Joe installed 4and quot; gutters with leaf guards. Also, Joe extended the gutters on each side to avoid runoff directly from the roof to the sides of the foundation.

Cost:
1. Provided multiple discounts available through the shingle distributor for last season's colors. Since we wanted the discounted color anyway, it was an easy choice.
Customer service:
1. Came back to assist our carpenter/painter after the roofing job was done. Removed some guttering temporarily to lower the cost of some deferred maintenance on the wood fascia. While the fascia replacement was probably overkill, he assisted where the carpenter needed the gutters removed, and they completely eliminated the risk of wood rot in a trouble spot that has produced leaks in the past.
2. The owner consistently checked on the worksite. Each day, the site was completely cleaned.
3. The owner came in person when we had an air conditioner outage. The problem was an electrical component on the 30-year-old compressor, and totally unrelated to the roofing work. Despite this, the owner assumed that the roofing work could have caused it, and doublechecked that the outside unit was completely protected from roof debris. When the unit turned back on after 24 hours, there was no dust in the outside unit which had been off for a day during the majority of the roof removal.

Brookside roofing was great. They were prompt and did the work in an expected time. Cleanup was also great.

Joe provided me with a quotation after an inspection of the damage we had received after a past hail storm. After receiving quotations from several other Angie's List providers, I opted to use Joe's company due to a number of reasons. 1. Joe would not use sub-contractors on this job. 2. He is locally owned. 3. He offered a fair price. 4. He came out himself, as opposed to a commission-based sales rep. Joe saved us about $500 on the shingles themselves and I purchased those before I finalized what company I was choosing. Work started on time, was as minimally invasive as a job like this can be, communication was constant and up-front, and the entire process was wrapped up in an acceptable timeframe. We discovered that nearly all of our roof decking was water damaged due to a previous company not using tar paper/felt to save a few bucks. Joe quickly called me, documented his findings with photos for the insurance company, and gave me some alternatives along with ballpark costs. I ended up repacing it all for an additional $2200, but I have come to expect these 'surprises' on a 100-year-old home! Overall, Brookside Roofing performed above and beyond expectation and did so in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend Joe and his company.

They did a great job. They have many different types of materials to choose from.

As I said, Brookside Roofing told me what they were going to do and when they were going to begin and finish. It's a pleasure to do business with a company that stands on their word. There were no problems or 'snags' on this job, but had there been any I feel confident that any problem would be fairly handled.

I contacted Brookside in November about a roofing replacement to schedule when weather wouldallow . The estimate was performed right away and was friendly, clear and professional, as well as lower than other estimates. The weather wasn't too cooperative, but Brookside kept in touch and the job was performedin early March. The tearoff and roofing took two days, including cleanup, and the guttering was done on the third day (all while I was at work), and I was kept in touch on the progress. I love the finished look but what really stood out was the knowledge and easy communicationwith the company owner/estimator/roofing supervisor.

The job went well. Joe was very available during the process, but not actually on the site. We did not have any real surprises. We had a little clean up work with some nails and roofing, but considering the amount of work it went well. They treated our neighbor's property very well and they were quite pleased with our choice. They did not show up too early, and no unnecessary noise.

In the beginning everything was going well. The owner was very helpful and gave us an estimate quickly. However, they would not give an exact start date. So we were not sure when we could or could not park in the driveway. They also came to do repairs later without letting us know. We were a little frightened to hear someone on the roof when we were unaware of anyone coming. They cut away part of our siding without telling us and then did not repair it for a month later. They did not fix the siding but just attached a metal piece underneath where they cut away. The gutters downspouts were repositioned with out explanation. They were willing to fix it, but it took numerous tries and a lot of time and appointments, before they would come or do it properly. In the end they completed the job, but it took many appointments, and lots of time cleaning the yard of debris, trash and lots of nails. Be careful letting kids or pets outside after they leave.

It went very well. They were able to do it in 1 day even with a severe storm that stopped work in the afternoon for about an hour. They did everything on the estimate and the details I asked for during the installation. Thanks Joe!

Great. They came in and did the work the next day--before some companies had even had a chance to come out and look at the problem. The price was well below the other bid we got and the contractor was very professional.

The did a very professional job. Once they started to tear the old roof off they found there were 4 old layers but they did not charge extra. They also discovered I needed a little extra flashing around the chimney and did not charge for that either. I interviewed several roofing and gutter companies and Brookside Roofing's professionalism was obvious even in the bid process. The bid was by far the most detailed of all the other bids so that I really knew what I would get. Joe Saubers came out and listened to my particular issues and he came up with very creative answers. He took the extra time to really make sure he was doing what was best for me. The work crew was fast and did excellant work and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend him and his company for high quality professionalism and honest work.
