Took a while but the gentleman that came did what was needed

Jeff (I believe) from Brandt was punctual and got to work right away. In a little under 2 hours he had the lock working smoother than I could have imagined possible and new keys made.

Customer friendly. Got the job done.

He was prompt, efficient, polite and capable. Very pleased with the job he did.

They are the only option for replacing a computer chip key because everybody else is three times as expensive. These guys are really fast and good. They make you pay cash and people don't carry a lot of cash anymore. They won't take a credit card, check or debit card -- only cash. To me that is a little aggravating. Their pricing is excellent.

I had picked up an older cedar chest that was locked and full of stuff, and of course I didn't have a key.  I first stopped at a locksmith in Overland Park, near where I had picked up the chest. They said not only couldn't they get it open, but they couldn't make a key for it.  I stopped at another locksmith just a few blocks away, also in Overland Park.  This time they told me I would need to leave the chest with them and for $75.00 they could open it and make a special key.
Not ready to pay that amount, I headed on toward home and stopped at Brandt Locksmith, not far from where I live.  He came out to my truck to take a look and discovered that the lock was only jammed and he opened the chest right away. He than asked if I would like him to make a key and I agreed to that. Still thinking that I would have to leave the chest for the work to  be done, I was told it could be done while I waited. 
In less that 20minutes I had the cedar chest open and a new key, all for only $5.00
This is a great example of how wide ranging the skills of a service provider may be and how greatly the cost may vary.
This time I was lucky and found the best of both.
I have used Brandt before with satisfaction and will continue to do so when I have a need.

He was great and pretty cheap in terms of price.  His service was very good.  I had a door lock that wasn’t working right.  I took it off and took it into his shop.  There was a part that was damaged and he replaced that part, and it works great.  He diagnosed the problem within 2 or 3 minutes.  I’ve been messing with it for several weeks and it just took him 7 minutes to figure out what was wrong.  I went into his shop and I had to wait for about 3 or 4 minutes in his shop, and he was finishing up with a customer.  So it was kind of expected.

When I couldn't get the dead bolt in the back door to move, I called Brandt Locksmiths after reading reviews on Angie's List.  They are close to me but I couldn't believe Jeff was here in about 10 minutes!  He showed me the broken part and said because it was pot metal, it couldn't be fixed but would have to be replaced.  He went to his truck and came back and said he had an exact used replacement in his truck from a previous job on another old craftsman house and would not charge for it since he couldn't guarantee a used lock!  He had a golden opportunity to sell me a whole new lock system!  I was so appreciative, I asked him to look at the old lock on the front door. I won't go into all the trouble we've had with that lock for the 7 years we've lived here but since it was original to the wonderful 1926 door, we just lived with it thinking it would have to replaced and I didn't want anything new looking.  Well, Jeff, who by the way, has a delightful personality, not only salvaged the lock-took it totally apart and just replaced the inside mechanism and reworked the plate on the door jamb so for the first time it actually fit without adjusting the door!  I've been living with this broken system-locked out a number of times because of it- for 7 years and now I have the same look but with a truly functioning lock!  I could not believe how little I had to pay for such wonderful service. Service call, labor, parts and 4 new keys was less than the cost of a new deadbolt for the back door plus we now have a still beautiful but working properly front door lock!  I will never call anyone else for locksmithing!

I called and they were able to get me in in three days (it wasn't pressing, so that was just fine).  I knew I was the second appointment of the day and Jeff called me at 9:15a to let me know he would be over in 10 minutes, which I very much appreciated.  
He reviewed the state of my front door and talked me through options to replace the cylinder and repair it.  He took all the information he needed and the lockset (?) for my master bedroom door.  
He returned, as promised, one week later (on an agreed upon day that was convenient for me) with a new cylinder for the front door keyed to match my back door and the lockset for the master along with a newly made key.  He fixed the locking mechanism we had been having problems with and made five key copies onsite.  
Jeff was great at letting me know his status and that he would be over a few min before he arrived.  He was very courteous and professional and I will call Brandt any time I need a locksmith in the future.

Very knowledgeable locksmith.  Explained all available the options for the doors in re-keying compared with replacing the cylinders.  Took time to explain how the locks functioned and a few quirks of the older locks.  Highly recommended for older homes, extremely knowledgeable of the older lock types.

Able to get new car key/alarm within 2 hours.  With these new cars you have to use special keys unique to each type of car and he had it.  Had called other locksmiths and they did not have it and one referred me to this locksmith as he has a big inventory.  He was busy and he was upfront about the time he would need to complete job and how long my wait was before since I was in a long line.  Even though my key was going to take more time than others in line when it came to my turn he did not appeared rushed and made sure the key/remote worked for him and me.  Will go back even though he is a bit of a drive because of the outstanding service.

They are excellent. The proprietor is an expert. Their prices are reasonable, especially compared to their commercial competition.

It is easy to get them to wait on you, and they are always available. They are a very small operation.

There was a burglary and I had my locks changed. I spent $150 on the service. I liked that the guy was responsive and dependable. He got the job done easily. I do not know how to rate their price. I would use them again in the future.
