I contacted lewis on craigs list. He seemed like a legit painter and came out to give me a quote just a couple of days later. The price was excellent for what he promised (originally agreed to 800 to repaint the house in the existing color). He required half up front and half upon completion. He started power washing the same day but got pulled away for some random reason and didn't come back for a few days. When he came back to start painting he claimed my house needed a anti peeling epoxy due to the age of the house. I agreed and paid another 400 bucks for the additional work. When lewis returned a few days later he again worked for about 30 minutes and then had a personal issue he had to leave to attend to. I was very understanding that things like this happen but it was starting to get to be a common occurrence. On the 4th day Lewis showed up he again worked for about 30-40 minutes and then came to me and claimed he had ran out of paint. He needed to go get some more from Home Depot. He then gave me this sob story about how he left his check book at home which was 45 minutes away and he needed the last half of the payment to cover the paint (he already had 800 bucks of mine at this point). He said he was leaving his painting gear behind the house so I would know that he's coming back. Needless to say Lewis never returned. His "gear" that he left was just an extension cord. He won't return any of my calls and hangs up on me if I call from an unknown number. It cost me 5 bucks to write this review as I was not previously a member of angies list. I just want to hopefully keep this from happening to someone else who perhaps comes across this joke of a painter. Beware and run away..
Description of Work: Lewis was supposed to power wash, scrap all peeling paint, and paint the house white. It was later agreed to that he would cover the house in an anti peeling epoxy.
