Angel is AN ANGEL!!! He came by to measure, call the power company to schedule the power shut off and tell me about the process. He arrived early and finished quicker than expected. I would use him for all of my electrical needs if he lived closer to my area of the metro. I am normally out of his service area but because my friend is a good customer of his, he agreed to help me out. He fixed the meter box, charged me a reasonable amount and is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.

As always, Angel Martinez, the owner of ARM Electric, is an absolute joy to work with. Over the years he has resolved several electrical issues for me. My home is aging and, in my opinion, Angel is peerless in trouble-shooting electrical problems and resolving them. For this job, I suspected he would run into wiring issues in changing out the old light fixture, because the old light had never worked properly and could not be controlled by the wall switch. Sure enough, the existing wiring was faulty. When Angel was finished, the wall switch controlled the new light fixture perfectly, he strengthened the supporting receptacle so that the fan operation is smooth and silent - a beautiful job as usual.

Everything was great. Angel was able to clearly explain all of the work he needed to do based on my requests and completed it all in a reasonable amount of time. His price was fair. He has a fantastic personality also. He was always prompt and very courteous.

It went as smoothly as a major project such as this can possibly go thanks to Angel! He came out & diagnosed the problem & thoroughly explained what needed to be done. He was very happy to work with our schedule & he always kept us appraised as to the status! He pulled the necessary permit & coordinated with KCPL in regards to inspections & anything else that is involved. He took the reins & led us through this whole process. If you have never had this done, you will be surprised as to what is involved. Angel was very instrumental in keeping us informed as to the status of the project. It was quite a relief to have such an advocate in dealing with the power company on one's behalf! He went the extra mile & then some! Very happy!

Angel was courteous and professional when I talked with him. He suggested that it would save me money if I dug the trench which I agreed to do. He was also willing to come out and do the job within a few days after calling him but I had other plans scheduled, so we schedule for a later date. Angel kept in touch and made sure we were on schedule which I appreciated. Angel arrived on time and he surveyed the job, asked me how I wanted the conduit routed, made suggestions, answered questions, confirmed cost (which was in the range previously discussed), and then proceeded to do the job. When completed, everything looked great. And Angel was able to reduce the cost by $200. Angel was professional and did a great job. I would definitely use him again.

Angel spent several hours using special equipment to locate a broken connection in our main phone line. The problem was finally located in a tiny broken wire in a phone wall plate, which had to be replaced. Angel is an excellent electrician who often finds creative ways to solve electrical problems. I highly recommend him.

I had taken out my old undermount halogen lights and installed LED lights. The only problem was, only one of the lights would work. Rather than spend hours trying to trouble shoot the installation I wisely decided to call Angel instead. He was booked for a few weeks and offered to refer me to someone else, but I was in no hurry and had used Angel in the past. He called when he was on his way and arrived on time. He got right to work and diagnosed the problem, a few of the connections had not held. He was able to fix my shoddy work and also installed a dimmer as well. I will definitely use Angel in the future.

We had a problem with a window air conditioner, replaced the unit and when the new unit tripped the circuit breaker, we realized we should call an electrician. (Over time, we have had several companies and individuals do electrical work for us and it is noteworthy that we chose not to call upon anyone we had dealt with previously.) We called Mr. Martinez and he was able to come over within 45 minutes. Upon our meeting, we were impressed with his kindness and graciousness. Mr. Martinez quickly identified the problem. He did an excellent job with explaining what was wrong, and why, then gave us a few options as to how to remedy the problem along with the approximate cost of each of the choices. (Normally we would obtain several quotes but Mr. Martinez was so professional and his quotes were well within reason so we decided to have him proceed with the work.) We choose the option that was less work for us but more work for him - as in doing some reconfiguration for a dedicated line vs us returning the new air conditioner and buying a different one. Without hesitation he went right to work to accommodate our needs. The air conditioner and receptacles are on the main floor, the wiring & breaker box are in the basement as are a number of obstacles ? he worked around all these factors without even a hint of any frustration. He had all the tools and parts in his truck so there was no down time waiting for him to go get something. He worked quickly and gave attention to detail all the way to new face plates. It was a very hot day so we were delighted that he made himself available to us and got us up and running so we could be comfortable. We are absolutely thrilled to have found Mr. Martinez and he will definitely be our ?go to? electrician. We highly recommend him as he is a professional, knows what he?s doing, as well as being a considerate and kind gentleman.
While this particular scenario did not apply to us I did want to address a comment I read in another review regarding not accepting credit cards. In short - it is very easy for us, as the consumer, to hand over a credit card, have it swiped and other than paying the bill, we are basically finished with the transaction. It is an entirely different story for the business, or person, accepting the credit card. It is a complex series of transactions involving a number of different parties and fees charged to the business ? it can be a costly, time consuming ordeal especially for small business owners. Whenever possible, let?s try to understand and support small businesses, appreciate what they do to provide us with our needs and not hold it against them because they choose not to deal with the
complexities and expenses imposed by huge financial institutes.

Angel did an excellent job. He arrived on time and went right to work. He installed a circuit breaker and ran a new line under ceiling tiles and up into abackroom. The wall where we wanted it was right over a heat return duct. Worked around that problem neatly. One thing I really liked was that he was able to run the line without disturbing the ceiling tiles that are stapled to the overhead floor joists. (A previous electrician who ran a line along the same route to the same panel left broken ceiling tiles and a real mess) Angel saved me few $$ on the dimmer switch, and installing the bulb in the outdoor fixture was gratis. Angel was easy to talk to. He didn't dis the work of the previous electrician, which i found refreshingly professional.

The appointment was straight forward, and he showed up promptly. He examined the awkward area around the second floor bathroom and quoted a price for both jobs. He offered hints to get the job done more cheaply elsewhere, but I was happy with the quote. Both jobs took 4 hours from start to finish. Since the job was easier than he expect, I was given a 20% discount from the original quote!

He came out the same day I called him and brought a copy of his license which the realtor had requested. If I wasn't moving out of town, I would definitely use Angel again and I would definitely recommend his services to others.

My living room had existing Cat 5 cable from when the house was built and I wanted to swap that out with Cat 6 cable. My cable modem is in the basement and the living room is one floor up and about 25 feet lateral and it was not something I was going to be able to do myself. I had a very hard time finding somebody to do the job. I read some reviews on Angie's list and one for Arm Electric was very similar to my problem, so I called. The owner Angel answered the phone himself and when I explained my problem he was happy to come and take a look to see if he could do the job. He was able to come by the next day but I didn't have the cable yet so we made an appointment for Saturday morning. He arrived a few minutes early. He assessed what would need to be done and explained to me what was required for him to do it (he had to cut a hole in the ceiling of a basement bathroom to gain access to the wires. He explained that there was a chance he would not be able to access the wires and if that were the case he would install an access panel in the ceiling where he cut the whole. He was able to access what he needed and in a total of about 3 hours he had snaked 8 cables from the living room to the modem in the basement. He cleaned up his mess and showed me the work he had done. His work saved me a lot of time and frustration. Everything worked well after the install.

I had a unique job for an electrician, running a single Cat6 line from an attic down 3 floors to my basement to be used in my new home office. I had found out how to run the line myself to everywhere except the basement and it turned out to be pretty tricky.
We had a few other electricians come out and they weren't interested in keeping the line inside the house, they all wanted to run a line down the outside of the house, which I would not allow. To keep costs down, ARM ran the line for me to a point where I could take over and gave me tips on how to finish and suggestions on how to finish like a pro.
I finished up but needed one last part to cover up a hole, while still providing access later. I ran into Angel at Lowes while he was preparing for his next job and he walked me directly to the part that I needed.
Overall, ARM was extremely responsive to my request, kept costs down, and I learned a thing or two in the process.

Excellent! Angel did a wonderful job for us, working around our schedules and other challenges we put in his way. He worked closely with city inspectors and utility companies so we passed inspections with no problems. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything to us before and during the process. Angel was very professional and very courteous. We would definitely recommend him and will use him in the future. We felt the price was fair and quite reasonable. The 24 year old florescent light fixture in the kitchen stopped working. The fixture had a wooden frame around a metal
box containing four florescent tubes. After replacing tubes several times with unsatisfactory and inconsistent results we called Angel. We didn't want to damage the ceiling by removing the fixture if it could be avoided. We called Angel while shopping at Home Depot and he advised us what to purchase. He had been waiting for us ten minutes when we returned home. We appreciated his willingness to spend his time waiting for us even though we were late arriving at the agreed upon time. Angel replaced the ?guts? of the fixture without removing the fixture from the ceiling, therefore, there was no risk of damage to the ceiling. Angel looks for the most efficient and cost effective way to accomplish the work and thereby save his customers money. He did the work on Saturday with no additional charge. We consider the $90 charge to be very reasonable. Angel has done work for us before and is always careful to leave the condition of the,house as he found it. We recommend Angel and ARM Electric strongly.
