Actual work done was nice, but the project was drug out forever. Very, very slow to complete. Didn't show up for days/week at a time. There was some rain delay, but most delays were not attributed to that. Was not made clear that quote for sod was not for entire yard. After laying the sod he wanted an additional $800 to finish out the yard. Tree removal company hired by landscaper was awful. Did damage and did not put a root killer into the stump, so now we have dozens of tiny trees trying to grow back in the yard. It is regular maintenance for us now to continue to pull the trees trying to regrow. The landscaper did say we could hire our own tree removal company, and in hindsight I wish we would have. I thought if the landscaper hired the person he works with regularly they would be able to coordinate their schedules more easily. Landscaper did not ever plant the new tree that was on the bid. He did dig a small hole in the yard to show me the placement of the tree and he did remove it from the final invoice, but, we wanted the tree! Also did not plant flowers in pot specifically requested by landscaper for us to purchase outside the bid until we said something about it. He was just not going to bother to finish that part of the project like the tree. The edging his guy did is very nice and secure and the plantings seem to be doing well. They brought in a LOT of river rock and spread that around nicely. But, it took them forever to get the job done and left things incomplete.

It took them about 5 weeks to get to my house. They didn't respond very quickly to my emails and questions.

Daniel (the owner I think) responded quickly to my quote request and had my lawn done about a week or so later.  The guys who did the work were early and finished quickly.  I have a new lawn now.

went extremely well. Contracted through Home Depot of all places, and I couldn't be happier with the service, communication, price, and quality of work. This company is the real deal.

Daniel came out to give us a bid. He asked good questions and offered suggestions on this project as well as information that was helpful in my veggie garden.
When he presented the bid he made suggestions of ways we could save money by hiring a specialist for a small portion of it. This seemed very kind of him and meant a ton. He also made it clear that he was fine with us completing some of the work ourselves if it helped meet our budget goals.
We had a little delay due to the rain and Daniel did a good job of communicating when they would be out to do the work. His crews were always very respectful and worked hard and efficiently to get the most done each day. You could tell they wanted to do it the right way.
What really impressed me was his professionalism. The job ended up requiring considerably more dirt and though it was at his expense, he honored his original bid and completed the work the right way and was very professional and kind in doing it.
I would highly recommend him to anyone needing landscaping. He was a great contractor and a VERY nice guy to work with!!

They were EXCELLENT! I called very late in the season, but they made a point to fit me in. They were on time and did EVERYTHING I asked for. I could not have been more pleased. There was ZERO pressure to do or add any services to what I needed. He would point out things that maybe I wanted to think about doing in the future as far as lawn care or landscaping, but again I never felt pressured to do anything. I felt that the prices were extremely reasonable and will be using this company again. They are highly knowledgeable about all things grass and landscaping!!!!!

I told the owner my budget and he made sure not to go over the budget. He gave me advice on mulch, etc. So far, I've been very happy with them and his prices are very reasonable. I was able to pick out what I wanted to plant. I am very happy. Any problems he runs into, he lets me know about.

Dan Hacker, American Lawn and Landscape owner, is great to work with! He listens carefully to what is needed, makes appropriate improvements and suggestions, completely itemizes all work to be done in his estimates, prices work reasonably, and promptly returns all phone calls. He and his staff are very prompt, experienced, professional, careful, and do high-quality work. If in-process changes or adjustments are needed, Dan responds cheerfully with very reasonable expense increases. After the work is completed, all debris is removed and the worksite looks like new again. I highly recommend Dan and his staff!
