First Logan explained his solution to my problem and explained how he was going to remove and replace the wall with a stronger and more secure wall. He further explained the materials he recommended and how the wall would be tied back into the yard. Once I choice American Landscaping and Patio a schedule date was agreed upon, his team showed up and started the demolition
The Crew arrived and work each day, manually digging out a footing to support a new Paver stone wall. They carefully installed the starter course and correct drainage, had the work inspected and began installing a paver stone wall with aigrette stone and Kevlar ties insuring the wall will last. As rain interrupted the work, the Crew ask and came on a Saturday to complete the wall.
The also cleaned up the yard, re-graded and re-seeded the ground

Overall, American Landscape and Patio did an excellent job and I would recommend this company.

We bought this house in June 2013. The patio was put in by the seller a year before. Currently the bricks are loose on the steps and one has fallen out. The walkway appears to be held together only with sand and it is washing away. We have contacted the company so I will update this with their response when we receive it.

Here is the response I received from Logan, we contacted him 3 months after we bought the house as the warranty was transferred to us. The entire walkway is crumbling it is no longer one brick.

The fact that you contacted angies list is why I have not returned you calls or messages. I have never done work for you yet you think you you have the right reviews on angies list. The former owner wanted a to repair sunken side walk so the could sell the house. I contracted with them and gave them a one year warranty. I was under no obligation to you to do any repair. I sent one of my crew out to fix it. It sounds like it got wet before curing. I would have went out and handled it but I got a call from angies list about your bad review which you wrote before you even spoke with me. I will not waste my time trying to please someone that has never been my customer when they want use the internet to bash my good name. I install all my paver according to national standards. If you would like a consult on your project I will happily meet you in person and give you an estimate to repair the steps properly.

If you are ever in the 11300 block of Hemlock St in Overland Park, KS. come drive down the street and see a real retaining wall. You can't miss it. I needed to have about 10 concrete stairs replaced and a 4-5 ft. high retaining wall replaced. The wall was in 2 sections divided by the stairs and would curve into the yard. Wall would be about 35-40 ft. long.
I called over 15 landscaping companies. I went to home shows, I googled companies, I called #s from fliers, called friends and went into craigslist to get estimates. The estimates I got ranged from 7,000 to 10,000 dollars. ALand P (American Landscape and Patio) estimate was about 28% less expensive.
I found ALand P through a home show. Logan (owner of ALand P) wasn't at the home show, but another big name landscaping
company give me his name. They thought Logan would be a better fit for the project and priced for my budget.
Logan was on time and very professional on his presentation when he came to give his estimate. He explained the process
and the materials he would be using for the project. He gave us recommendations and the pros and cons of the project.
He started the project on time and finished on time. He was present at the site about 90% of the time. However, he spoke to me on a daily basis on the progress. His guys worked nonstop and weekends.
I'm not a structural engineer, but one of my retired neighbors is and he said they used the right equipment and tools
to do the job. ALand P had project plans/drawings and documented their progress. They tore down the old, prepared the area, hauled off the old and filled any voids. Every day of the project they cleaned after themselves.
Overall, ALand P was organized, well priced, clean, timely, and does well-built products. I hope to use them in the future.

Very smooth. He apparently has a lot of experience in this work because he finished without any problems and the results were better than expected. He even found an underground utility (electric) that I had forgotten about and safely rerouted it.

Logan came in and tore out existing natural stone patio, front steps and kitchen steps. He repaired some foundation issues, designed new steps and basically built a new patio from scratch. After he was finished he reseeded the yard, added dirt to the landscape and cleaned the patio and driveway with a power washer. Great job!
