Excessive hail damage necessitated we replace the existing wood shake roof. Solicited quotes from seven roofing companies. We limited our selection to companies with a local presence (not just an 800 line) in he Kansas City area. We looked for a firm that had been in business for at least 10 years. We asked our insurance agent for suggestions, and ultimately we researched further with Angie's List and the BBB. Each company that submitted a quote was asked for references in our area. We checked out the work with a 'drive-by' inspection and a phone call to the homeowner. Our criteria mandated that a supplier be a firm with a physical presence (not just an 800 line) in the Kansas City area; preferably have been in business at least 10 years; be well-rated by Angie's list and BBB. Of particular note was how any problems were handled and the resulting customer satisfaction. Price, while important, was not the most important. We valued customer satisfaction and performance to what was promised to be more critical. Acord was not the lowest bidder, but they were competitive. Some of the firms applied 'high-pressure' tactics. Too many firms did not follow-up if they did not make the sale on the first call. Acord was patient with us while we learned about roofing (like how many roofs do you replace in a life-time)? A roof is a major expenditure and we wanted to be comfortable with our choice. We had filed an insurance claim, and Acord helped us with that process. The job took a week, which is what was promised. Each day, the crew showed up on time, and worked well into the twilight hours. There were a couple of minor issues which were handled promptly and satisfactorily by Jared, the guy handling our project. These guys were professional and did what was promised. Follow-up was excellent.

Everything was replaced very quickly and smoothly. We live in a high wind area and have always had trouble keeping shingles on the roof. I have replaced the roof several times over the years and had it repaired every year since 1994. Right after Accord installed this new roof we had two very strong storms and did not loss any shingles or have any flapping in the wind. Good work.

I had several shingles blown off in the spring.I had two companies come out for estimates.It took several days to even get them out to look at it.Both companies wanted to do reroofs.I knew I didnt have that much damage.I called Acord after being tired of dealing with them and not returning my calls.Rod Acord came out in two days,told me he could repair all shingle damage for 300.00 dollars.He came out in two days,did the job and it looked great.I am really happy about the job.I would recommend this company to anyone.Its pretty hard to find an honest roofing company.This one is.

After dealing with many storm chaser roofers who tried to pressure me into signing a contract on the spot, I joined Angie's List and found Acord Roofing. I spoke with Brian's wife to schedule an estimate and she was very friendly and helpful. Brian came out the next day, and after measuring came in with a printed estimate and professional brochures to show me exactly what materials would be used. His estimate was very close to that of my insurance adjustor's, which he hadn't seen. He did not ask me to sign a contract, just said to give them a call if I decided to schedule.I called to schedule and materials were delivered a few days before the install. Brian gave me a heads-up call to confirm roofing day so I could plan my day. It was raining on the scheduled morning, and the Acord crew was outside waiting to go to work. Then they worked hard to get it done in one day, and spent an hour or more on clean-up. I had more trash left in my yard by neighbor's roofing crews than Acord left. No sign they were even here except a few stray nails, which can't be helped. The crew moved my patio and deck furniture out of the way and put it all back during cleanup. They didn't damage any flower beds.Acord Roofing also uses top of the line materials and has the best warranty around. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Competitive on price, Mater Elite roofer, contracted out the guttering to match competitor offer, Red Hammer Roofing. Feel did quality work, very responsive throughout the estimation process and until completion of work. Great job recommending approach for my lower pitch garage, and received Golden Pledge work and additions for price of Weather Stopper, System Plus Warranty. Workers were efficient and friendly and ones they regularly use. Only complaint is responsiveness after the work was completed. Jared Courson my sales person was excellent and insured I was satisfied throughout the process and install, answering questions frequently. I have an older home, not a steep A-Frame Ranch, and received some "nail pops". Explained not covered according to agreement, but wanted to make me satisfied and agreed to have someone come out and repair ones caused by the work at their cost, in addition to some other ceiling work I may have his preferred provider complete. Tried for first 60 days post the job to get this individual to phone me back (always went through Jared, was never provided direct contact info) and did not receive return call. If I could have received closure on that one item this would have been an A+ experience, probably hall of fame nominee. I am even hesitant to downgrade to B based on this, but need to reflect the over-all experience accurately. I know we had some storms in the area, and numerous work so my guess is was overwhelmed due to timing, but nonetheless still have nail pops and promise not fulfilled. Angie's List coupon was available and helped in my decision. Willing to provide report update upon closure.

They returned my phone calls promptly. They quickly sent me over an estimate for the work that would be done. They delivered materials within 2 days. They are professional and business like.

Great service! Great Company! I had a few shingles on the front of my roof that were wind damaged. A few shingles were buckled, a few were raised and one shingle was missing. This area of the roof was originally "fixed" by Aspen Roofing about 6 months ago after a strong wind storm hit our area. Brian from Acord Roofing came out and looked at it and within a minute saw what the problem was. He said that the shingles were just nailed down and not sealed. He said his minimum flat rate was $90. I thought this was a little much but I wanted it fixed right. So Brian, who is nice as can be, went up there and fixed all of it within 5 minutes. He said that if there is ever any problems in that area again to call him and he would fix it for free as it is under waranty. Just for the piece of mind that it was done correctly was worth the money. I highly recommend Acord for any roofing needs. They are very nice and professional and seem to know what they are doing. Acord fit us in on a few of the warmer days in December and got the roofing job done quickly and well. Their work crew was very focused and attentive to detail. The roof looks great. Had one minor follow up issue and Brian came out quickly and resolved it. We are very pleased with the work that Acord did.

Overall, I thought that they did a good job. I felt that working with them was easy and their pricing seemed fair and relative to what our insurance provider suggested.

It all went very smoothly as described in services performed. I've dealt with Acord before on roof repairs and replacing our skylight so I knew they would do a good job. My expectations were certainly met.

We just had the best experience with Brian Accord and his team! I chose them based on the remarks on Angie's list and was not disappointed. After I called for a bid, Brian was out the next day, and had the bid to me the day after that. He was very professional and pleasant to work with. He called me early on Monday to say that he would like to take advantage of a break in the weather and put 2 crews on the job to get it done. Our building is very large and the estimates from other roofers indicated that it would take a week to finish. This is Wednesday and the guys just finished cleaning up- very well, I might add. Beautiful job and a 50 year all-inclusive warranty. We are very pleased and appreciative.

They completed the job efficiently and carefully. They cleaned up after themselves.

Due to storms in the area, they were a bit long in getting to me but my situation wasn't life or death. The crew arrived around 8:00 am and completed the job before 5:00 pm same day. Not a lot of chatter, just good workers. Cleaned up the debris to a point you would never know they were there. Very satisfied.

I sent an email on the evening of 9/30/10. They called at 9am the following morning. They were upfront with me, telling me that they were very busy right now with customers who needed service due to recent extreme weather and would not be able to get to my job for at least a month. They apologized and gave the number of a contractor closer to me, whom they felt was a reputable company. THANK YOU, Acord for being HONEST and RESPONSIVE and not just ignoring me!

From the time the estimate was given, I believed I had a complete understanding of the process and types of material to be used. I was provided with options, buffered with recommendations, but it was always my decsison. Consultive sales approach was used at each step of the process. Weather was taken into consideration and I was given notice prior to when work would begin and it started on time. One day and the old roof was "cleanly" taken off (my neighbor has "gutter guards" on his house which did not have to be removed). The crew made little to no mess by carrying the removed shingles to the dumpster rather than shoving them off the roof, into the yard as I have seen done at other jobs. Clean-up was minimal. All monies due, were explained in detail, there were no surprises!

I would highly recommend this company and will use them in the future for any roof repairs. Their honesty, integrity and knowledge was greatly appreciated.

I solicited two bids on the job from two companies on Angies List. Both had excellent ratings and both were Master Elite rated installers with GAF (Timberline). Of the two, Rod Acord responded right away and had a quote within a day offering several options for the roofing material. The other guy didn't respond right away and lost the job (when the quote finally arrived, it was higher). I explained to Rod that this was an insurance claim, and to further complicate things, my mortgage company had to be involved. He was very helpful dealing with both entities. Rod set the installation date for the first available day with good weather. He said it would only take them a day and a half to remove and replace the roof. I work in the commercial construction industry and have heard this kind of talk before and was very skeptical. When installation day arrived (a Thursday), he called about 9:00am and said they were leaving to get the materials. I thought if he was just getting the materials there was no way they could finish by the next day given the short hours of daylight at this time of year. He called early that afternoon and told me that they had run into some siding that was rotted due to the old cedar shingles absorbing water and touching the siding. He gave me a couple of options to make the repair. Both options were reasonable so I told him to proceed. That everning when I got home, Rod was there to show me the damage and to talk about the progress on the house. I could see that the installers were not quite half way done and his repair guy had yet to make the repairs on the siding. As you can imagine, the yard was a mess and there were tools and equipment lying around everywhere. However, the crew had moved all the tools on the deck and the path to the front door to allow access. Friday went by without any phone calls during the day. When I got home that night, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The roof was finished, all the tools and equipment was gone, and the front and back yards were completely cleaned up. The repair to the siding was completed and it was very difficult to tell that a repair had been made (it was). I was astounded. Saturday the inspector from the mortgage company came out to inspect the roof and said the installation was one of the best she had seen. When I told her how fast the job was completed, she asked how many people were on the crew. When I said five, she was shocked. She was guessing to complete the job it in the time it took, the crew would have had to have been at least eight to ten. She was very impressed, as was I. Rod has been very patient with the payment schedule of the bank and has followed up to make sure I'm happy with the work. Obviously, I am very satisfied with the installation. Being in the construction business, I am very leery of contractors and subcontractors. I have to say, this has been a great experience all the way around. I HIGHLY recommend Acord for your roofing needs. P.S. Despite a great effort to have a perfect clean up, it is almost impossible to pick up all of the nails that fall off of the roof and the old shingles. I recommend that you go to Home Depot and buy a magnet to pick up the few that are left so you don't step on them or hit them with the lawn mower. A magnetic sweeper costs about $17.

Brian answered a number of questions about the process and his crew started right on time. The crew worked very hard and got it wrapped up while the weather stayed nice. They did an excellent job and cleaned/picked up everything around the house when they were finished.

Workers stayed busy and completed the job promptly and with quality. Work area was cleaned up well.

Professional and courteous when giving me an estimate. Explained everything completely about what they would do. When I called to schedule the job, they asked if they could do it a week earlier as they would be busy the following week, which was fine with me. They did the job in 1 day. Everything was picked up. I had one other bid which was close in price. My decision was based on reviews and experience of Acord Roofing.

He arrived on time and had a good crew. He was courteous and finished the job in a timely manner. He even returned and reset the cupola after the job was finished.

Excellent overall experience. The company left an estimate on my doorstep one day after I called (one of their competitors took 10 days), and was able to start work a week after I gave the go-ahead. The crew arrived the day they were supposed to and worked until 9 p.m. the first day and finished the second day. I never found so much as a nail in the yard after they left. The roof looks great.
