"I am sorry that you felt you had a bad experience with our company. Our contract clearly states that we order extra shingles to be delivered to cover any last minute needs, that way if running low we don't have to stop working to run & pick-up more. The contract states this as well as the fact that all materials delivered to your job site remain the property of Acord Roofing. Our contract also states that decking is replaced as needed at $35/per sheet installed. So we are not trying to save money by not doing the decking replacement. We also do not want to overcharge our clients when we know that it is not going to be an issue. Our experienced installers have to make a judgement call based on their multiple years experience (15 yrs. with our company alone) in the field. They did not think this section would leak due to the pitch of the roof and the fact that it was not that bad on the exterior. There can be ventilation issues in attic where things are way more visible on the inside than the outside. Immediately after you contacted us regarding this issue, we did return, removed this section and completely reroofed this area. Giving a discount when the issue was immediately resolved to your satisfaction is not something we do. I am sorry if that is why we received this negative review. I do know that you have a wonderful new roof with a 10 yr no leak warranty by hiring a real KC based company that will be around for the next 10 yrs."

"Dear Potential Customers, The above review is a perfect example of why people who write false reviews on Angie's List are getting sued & having to pay damages. We are not going to do that simply because we feel most honest and sincere people will have the common sense to see past one bad review. You do deserve to know the true facts regarding this customer. We were contracted to install a new roof for this homeowner. His main complaint was regarding the installation of continuous ridge vent on the top of his roof. He is correct in stating that we ran short on material and had to go to our office to pick up more of the product. It was brand new product, not used as he stated. The only reason that we had to go get this from our warehouse is because he took the original product from outside his home and locked it away in his garage unbeknownst to us. After the continuous ridge vent was installed according to the manufacturers instructions he complained that it was installed inappropriately. This product does not go all the way to the edge of the roof extending over the soffit portions of roof. He insisted that it needed to do so. It does not really matter besides the look of the product so to please the homeowner we reinstalled continuous ridge vent all the way to the edge of his roof line. It was during this time that the owner of our company got involved. The statement that the homeowner makes regarding the owner of our company hanging up the phone on him is laughable to anyone who has ever met the owner of our company. You do not stay in business for over 45 yrs with an excellent reputation if you treat customers that way. We have received Angie's List Super Service Award every year since 2008, not to mention being voted The Best in the Northland 2015. The owner of our company did meet with the homeowner and satisfied all of the homeowners concerns. The completion of this job was on August 15, 2014. It was at this time the homeowner acknowledged that he was pleased with the outcome finally, so the owner of our company requested our payment. The homeowner then had to confess that he did not have funds to pay for his new roof. It was at this time that all of the games being played seemed to make more sense to us. We did not receive final payment on this roof until March 15, 2015, seven months later. I think that pretty much tells the whole story right there. As far as there being concerns regarding any type of leaking, our office never received any phone calls whatsoever stating there was a leak or any other concerns. During that seven month time frame there was continuous contact via mail regarding their payments they were making to pay off the balance that they owed to us. So if there were a legitimate leak issue a note could have even been sent with the checks. Honestly, I do not believe there was ever a leak of any type on their roof. We hope that any potential customers will listen clearly to both sides of the story and hopefully you will come to the truthful and honest conclusion. We are a family run business that takes a lot of pride in our work. Please consider all of our reviews and not just focus on the negativity of this one review."
