You know you get the best work when people love what they do. Sarah Gibson and Cristi Lynn at Acme Bicycle Company are passionate about bicycles. They are passionate about bicycle quality: hand building bicycle frames, providing flawless paint jobs and doing righteous and reasonable repair work. They are passionate about bicycles as transportation: leading weekly rides and working to get local governments to provide for the safety of bicyclists. Also they are dedicated to helping those who use the bicycle for daily transportation. Frequently these latter are not just hobbyists with custom clothes and cycles but those who, "through poor choices or difficult circumstances," (as Sarah says) require bicycles for basic transportation. Acme tries to meet these needs with donated and re-furbished bicycles - and also offers the new owners training in bicycle maintenance. The shop provides a meeting place for bicycle activists and, of course, a great cup of coffee.
