Contracted HomePro to build a sunroom and install siding. Signed contract about Labor Day. After several " trips to measure:" work finaly started the week before Christmas. Never knew who would show up as there was 2 crews working. Salesman kept coming by to collect money even though contract called for payment at completion. Owner came out at completion and made several promises that were never fulfilled. Job was shoddy and less than professional. On completion found several contractors that could have done the job cheaper (our fault). If interested in HomePro investigate them completely.

Please read this entire review if you are considering purchasing a pool from Home Pro. We had a fiberglass pool installed by home pro in the spring of 2019. This was the second pool we’ve had installed and the third we’ve owned. Barnes Pool installed a pool for us in Estero Florida in 2012. That experience gave us a referenced view of home pro’s method. We had several issues from the beginning, some problems continuing until today. Photos of all issues will be included. Listed individually: -We appear to be having a fiberglass gelcoat failure. From the moment water went into the pool, the coat started to chalk. Two local pool care companies have been unable to diagnose, solve, or reverse the issue. Home Pro offered zero assistance. They did not even help us file a warranty claim with the manufacturer and even claimed we had purchased a damaged pool with no warranty. I’ll include our contract. Not one word about a damaged pool. Latham Pools manufactured our fiberglass shell. Look them up on BBB and you will see we are not alone with this issue. They do not honor the product warranty. See photos. This is an unsightly nightmare. -Maximum leveling error in fiberglass pools is 1 inch or less. Our pool is 2.3 inches unlevel. Not even close to the margin of error. The water line tapers aggressively and exposes the top step when the water level falls with evaporation. This unlevel presentation is noticeable to people seeing the pool for the first time. See photos. -Our septic tank was demolished and replaced in a new location to allow for the pool. It was made of concrete and rebar. Home Pro buried the chunks of the old tank under shallow dirt in my yard. Our zero turn has “sucked up” chunks of rebar into the blade on two different occasions. These pieces of metal are attached to huge pieces of concrete underground. It has destroyed the mower decks, spindles, belts and resulted in huge bills. My husband digs down and saws the metal off at it’s base underground. See photos. -The pool plumbing immediately had a return line leak. This pulls air into the system and prevents the filter from ever reaching proper pressures. It also drains into the yard when the pump is off, killing a strip of grass. The system violently purges air and reprimes every startup. See photos. -The pool handrail was heavily damaged upon installation. It looks like it took a major fall during transport. They are designed to be bolted into the concrete decking. Ours was cemented into the pool deck, making it impossible to replace without demolition. See photos. -The gravel packed around the pool was not completed properly. The steps into the pool give and buckle as you step down into the water. -They trashed our property and attempted to bury their lunch containers into the gravel pack around the pool. My husband went out every night and discarded their trash and cleaned up the yard. This project was approximately $57,000.00 and we could not be less pleased with Home Pro’s performance, workmanship, or customer service. The main advice I’d give anyone buying a pool is hire someone in SPG or Tulsa that will install a Pebbletec pool for you. Barnes installed ours and it was beautiful, nearly indestructible, and had a 30 year warranty. Barnes did exceptional work at every stage of the project. We’d be happy to show our issues to anyone considering a pool. Come see this disaster for yourselves. We have long wanted to post a review, but were waiting on warranty claim information from Latham. They stopped responding 6 months ago, so it seems like that has run its course.

It was totally satisfying from beginning to end. ALL staff was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and not pushy. They did what they said they were going to do, in the manner they described, for the price they quoted, in time frame they gave, and it looks GREAT. They worked with us to make sure we got all we wanted and the installation crew was phenomenal.

I used to be a believer in "you get what you pay for."  However, Home Pro showed me that's not always true.  There were several issues of major concern:

I.  Communication - There wasn't any, unless you count the calls explaining the many delays and the later calls (12 hours after they moved the trash trailer) when they wanted the final payment (even though the job was incomplete).  Even the workers who did the construction did not communicate with me.  I thought it was because I cannot speak Spanish, but my husband thought one of them spoke English.
II.  Supervision - There wasn't any.  The team of workers seemed to be on their own.  In fact, they finished the entire room before the electrical work was done.  When the electricians arrived, they had no access to the outlet locations.  Therefore, the exterior panels that cover the area beneath the floor had to be disassembled (the insulation fell out).  After the electrical work was done, the entire lower portion had to be reassembled.  (The electricians were not surprised.  They said it happened often.)  The workers also finished the room a second time, but the existing sliding door which was supposed to be removed was still in place.  So there was more disassembling and reassembling.  There was no one checking on the job's progress, quality of work, communicating with us or Home Pro.
III.  Time Frame - (I was told the job would take two to six weeks.)
April 28, signed contract for work and wrote BIG check for product
July 7, product and work crew arrived at site
    August 5, job finished
IV.  Shoddy finish work - After the old sliding door was removed, the crew installed new trim in the hole it created.  There were huge drips, gaps between the trim and the existing sheet rock,  visible knot holes in the new wood, blobs of caulking squishing out of the vertical trim, etc.  It looked like a kindergartener did the work.  Only when I complained was there a mention of improving it.  As a result of the botched electrical work, one of the flat exterior panels was damaged and had to be replaced.  Although I was told it would take 2 - 3 weeks to receive the new panel, it miraculously appeared the following day when I mentioned that the final payment would not be made until the job was truly complete.  Needless to say, the panel was quickly installed although I worry about how this may have compromised the structure and insulation  because once again the heavy-handed caulking is very visible.  It looks as though they glued the pieces back together.  The blobs and globs are in the most visible location as you approach the exterior entrance.
Although I am somewhat embarrassed that I fell for the fancy presentation in the Home Pro showroom, I hope to prevent someone else feeling as frustrated as I have felt.  In the past four years, we have had a number of home improvements done, but I have never experienced a situation like this.  I guess we were very lucky with our previous jobs.  The business owners were honest and reliable.  They did what they said, and they did it when they said they would.  Here's what I learned from my mistake.  Just because you spend a lot of money does not insure you'll get high quality in return.  Amen.

They charged $8000 for a new roof and 4 windows.  They took advantage of me and my roof still leaks!  They didn't wrap the windows correctly.  I have an addition and they started putting tar paper and the rafters were broken.

Home Pro did an excellent job on our window replacement. From purchase to install the staff answered questions and concerns in a timely fashion. The quality of the window was excellent. The installers worked steadily and were meticulous with their task. Having priced replacement windows in the past, I knew the pricing was fair. It included removal and they took away the old windows. Their policy of reusing or repurposing material no longer used was explained and appreciated! We plan on purchasing from Home Pro in the future!

They called us  a few days prior to doing the work to let us know when they would be there.  They came when they said & got the work done with one visit. They did a good job & cleaned up after themselves.  They made sure the outside trim around the door looked nice also.

I love the door. I felt their price was a little high, but the whole process was worry free & would use them again..

The guttering/downspouting work went well & in a timely manner.  The landscaping in front of my garage--a different story: The land slopes just slightly toward my house & as a result water was pouring into my garage (which is a part of the house) & flooding it everytime we had a hard rain. I wanted work done to slope the drainage system so runoff water would GO TO THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE.  The contractor they hired to come do the job spent parts of two days moving dirt & pouring concrete into the front of my garage entrance & considered the job done & left. I had to contact the company to tell them the water would still not drain away from the house if it rained. I know I'm no engineer; however, I do know WATER WILL NOT RUN UPHILL & I told them so. They sent him back & I had to tell him what needed done & how to do it to complete the job.  I feel like I was robbed & they should have paid me instead of me paying them. After I had to engineer the job myself, the water at least doesn't drain into my garage anymore.  The date & amount listed above is approximate--can't remember the exact amount & date. But it still grates on me every time I hear/see their advertisement on TV.  I hope other people don't have the problems with them that I did.

The overall experience with the staff at the store was not favorable.  The salesman was very condescending at times.  Also did not seem to have a construction background when actually telling us what would be done. Their time frame was not at all what they stated, even after the 50% down payment was paid.  On site foreman seemed to change from time to time. Never knew exactly who was in charge.  Told one thing by one person and another by another.
Took forever for the teams to get started.  Had to call several times. Once they finally started, the deck and siding crew did good work. The deck crew was very professional and cleaned up every day.  Their workmanship seems to be very good.
The siding crew was very fast and worked hard each day.  They also tidied up each day and cleared their debris at the end of the job.
They were very friendly and seemed to want to do a good job.
The concrete crew was  another story.  They were undependable each day.  Started, then left to return only when called to inquire about their whereabouts.  Also, the crew itself changed from day to day. They did not clean up each day.  Left the yard a mess.  They were very rude at one point. Did a terrible job on the sidewalk the first time (uneven and slanted).  Very unhappy to have to redo it. The finished project is not good, or what was expected, but was running out of time so accepted it.
Management seemed to be in a big hurry to get their money at the end of the job.
Later: There is constant noise from the siding moving.  Have tried to get a statement about the R value of the siding for income tax purposes, but to no avail.

We went to Homepro of Joplin to purchase fencing for our new dog. Our salesman convinced us that a sun room addition and new gutters and drains would solve the water problem we were having (but didn't know we had). We were told that the job would take 1-2 weeks. The salesman, "Ron", said they would "swarm" our house and have the work completed in a couple of days. We didn't really need the work done, but he was a VERY convincing salesman. This was in August. When the weather started to turn cold, we suggested that they wait until spring to do the job, and asked that they put our fence in. Because they wanted the money up front, and winter is slow for them, they went ahead and tore out our front and back porches, leaving the only access to the house through the garage. It stayed that way throughout the holidays.

They poured new concrete in the dead of winter. It has since cracked and shifted, and the swelling of the patio as it dried made the existing brick wall buckle and crack. It is not fixable, and needs to be demolished now.

They began building the sun room addition by using yet another 3rd party, and even I, a layman, could tell it was not being framed correctly. There were huge gaps between roof and wall supports, inferior lumber was used, and nails were sticking out everywhere because they missed the beam with the nail gun. No matter how many times I complained or questioned the standard of work, they would not fix it.

Our fence, a black aluminium picket, was supposed to have 4x4 posts. They are 2x2. The whole fence rattles with the slightest breeze. The aluminium is so fragile that our dog (medium) can squeeze through by bowing out the pickets. The gate has no handle, and is impossible to open from the outside, requiring both hands to open it by reaching over the gate. If I had purchased the fencing materials at a home improvement store and had someone install it, it would have cost less than 1/10 what Home Pro charged us.

The metal they used for the soffit and fascia is ugly and looks like a cheap trailer house. The gutters are not level, and they pour water from every corner of the roof. The water problem we didn't know we had is now very obvious. The whole house is settling as a result.

Three years later we still have terrible problems, and cannot get the company to respond. The concrete cracked when the weather warmed, the existing brick wall was not supported when they poured the concrete, and burst it's seams. It must be removed now. The siding on the addition warped the first summer and looks absolutely hideous. The plastic windows came loose from their frames and let in bugs and dirt. The window frames do not open and close, presumably because of the aforementioned settling. The yard is a swamp because their "cleanup" involved scraping off our topsoil, and the underground drains, which they destroyed our french drain system to bury, fill with leaves and do not empty.

The addition itself was built so poorly that we had to get another contractor to correct it in order to be able to finish the interior of the addition. A huge section of the metal fence bent and is down. Home Pro won't even tell us the Brand, so that we can purchase a replacement section of fencing. These and many more problems (no city permits or inspections for one) have left us with an eyesore and a money pit. John at Home Pro will not return our calls or emails.

We trusted them because they ran television ads with satisfied customers singing praises. It never dawned on me that they would not even leave the Home Pro sign in the yard once the mess was apparent to passers-by. Two weeks turned into nearly a year, and still the job is 1/2 finished.

In our small town, we could have purchased an entire house for what we paid to have our nice one trashed.

I would warn even my worst enemy against using Home Pro of Joplin, MO. Don't believe their tv ads. They are NOT honest, they don't do their own work, and they are VERY expensive. Add that to the non-existent customer service, and it's a perfect storm of nightmare proportions.

The quality of the work was very poor.  I tried to get them out to fix the work and it took them over a year to come out and fix the porch.  There is still problems with the balusters.  They didn't but enough supports under the porch and it started to sag.  We were not happy with them at all.  I will never use them again.

While I love my sun room now that it's done, the building of it was not what I had hoped. The windows and door they "sold" me are terrible. At the time of sale, they convinced to go with their top grade, but later on they had trouble getting it delivered, so they tried to convince me their next level was "just as good." when that was NOT the case originally. Must have thought I was too stupid to see the irony of that. Since instalation of the "just as good" windows, pieces have fallen out of them and the lock on the door doesn't even work! I had them come back out to fix numerous things a number of times, but finally gave up and just live with the problems. Also, according to the contract, I was supposed to pay certain amounts at specific times during the construction, but the salesman would call me up and beg for advancements on the money claiming the owner wouldn't pay him until I paid ahead of time. The entire experience was awful!

After a delay of three times their estimate to start, I returned home to find that the installers had ripped out the trim/flashing that held the ends of the existing steel siding. This effectively destroyed the integrity, stability and seal of the siding. After several complaints and restarts, the new windows were trimmed with large wooden frames and covered with aluminum and MASSES of silicon caulking in order to re-anchor the siding ends that were no longer attached to the house. I had a single window replacement done by an individual with very nice results. I expected similar professionalism from Home Pro, but I was very disappointed! The over-sized trim made our old shutters unusable and they had to be replaced. Since the new shutters were different sizes than the original, they ended up warped/bent and don't cover the existing trim pieces. Upon closer inspection, it was determined that two windows were out of alignment with each other. When final payment was demanded, I negotiated a list of 13 corrections still to be made. I paid all but the last $500 with the assurance that the 13 items would be addressed before the job was complete. Only two of those 13 were ever fixed, with the statement that the others were not something they were now willing to do -- demands are still coming for the $500. I feel that instead of owing Home Pro another $500, they owe me for thousands of dollars damages done to my steel siding.
Response from HOME PRO
"In October of 2007 we did install this client's windows. In hindsight, having one window installed by a different contractor we should have stayed the course with what the other contractor did although it was not standard replacement window installation. We made every attempt with custom painted new shutters and including discounting the 500 dollar balance to meet the customer's expectations. I'm not sure that we've accomplished that. We will be here to service them if they have any issues in the future."
