Our ground source heating system wasn't working and of course it was on a Saturday. The company sent someone out fairly quickly, but the young guy didn't really know what he was doing. My husband has experience in the field, but was too ill to do the work himself. My husband said if it weren't for him, the service man would have taken much longer because he didn't know the first thing about diagnosing the problem.
A relay needed to be replaced and luckily, the service man had the part and changed it. It has worked since
We used Aire Serve when we needed it to be fixed right away, out of our own pocket. Their price was a bit more than our deductible, but worth it to have it fixed that day.
In repeated services, they were punctual, and the booties make a difference, as I have cleaned up after the "contract providers" before.
When our air conditioner went out in early summer 2011, their prices had gone up, I challenged the service guy on his freon price.
He was committed to it, and pointed out that if we were pre-paid contract members, we would get a discount. After he fixed it, I called around town for over the phone prices, and found I was charged double the lowest price given, and the other companies were all lower than the "member" price.
Would I use them again? If I needed it fixed right, and Right Away, no matter what the cost.
problem. They then said they could NOT leave without fixing a furnace
pipe issue where that pipe and a water heater fume pipe met. They tried
to use scare tactics and pressure me into a $500 repair cost to replace
the pipe work. They put the pipes in years ago! Once they said they
couldn't prove they did it, they had to charge me to fix it before they
could leave. Wouldn't allow me to get other estimates without signing a
waiver to release them of liability. While one employee was very nice,
the other was rude and very pushy to get the extra work done.
They
have always done great work for a decade that I've used them. Shocked at
this treatment. Lost me as a long time customer now.
Shawn explained everything to me on the phone and gave me what he considered a very rough estimate. I liked that the company wanted to see my home before giving me a firm estimate for the cleaning. When Shawn looked at my home, he explained exactly what the machine looked like and how it worked. He also described how the 2-man crew would most likely proceed, although some of the particulars would be left up to their discretion.
The crew arrived at the expected time and went over the procedure with me again. As Shawn predicted they would, they started with the upstairs vents and worked their way down and in, toward the furnace to reduce the amount of dust that might be blown into the air. They cleaned up after themselves very well. If it weren't for fact that the vents were visibly cleaner, you couldn't see any evidence of their having been here. The final cost was exactly the same as the estimate from Shawn's visit.
NOTE: Both the estimator and the work crew were good with my dogs. In fact, it was obvious that the crew had been told to expect them. They took the time to let the dogs sniff and "approve" of them before bringing in the equipment. And they petted each of the dogs before they left.
We were confused over the difference between the ground source heat pump and the traditional system and they went through those differences and let my wife and I determine which system would best fit our needs both now and into the future. Purchasing a large ticket item such as a furnace and air conditioner can be stressful at best, but Rob and his staff worked through the questions and concerns we had and when it came time for my wife and I to decide which company to go with, Aire Serv was the only company we felt comfortable working with. I would highly recommend Aire Serv of Central Missouri to all my friends and family.
