I called and told him the problem. He came within a couple hours to check it out. We agreed we should get a whole new unit since mine was 17 years old. The price quotes I got from others was between $4500 and $6500. He told me $2700! The next morning he was at my house at 815 sharp. He said it should take about 6 hours to install but they would try to get it done faster because it was supposed to be soooo hot that day. They were done in a little over 4 hours! New unit is freezing us out even set on the same temp we had our old one set to. I am very very pleased!

They did a real good job.

The repairman arrived, made the repair and left all within 20 minutes. He stated that I need not pay at that time, the boss would send a bill. He said "It won't be much, I wasn't here long." 2 weeks later I got a bill which included a charge of $55.00 for labor. If this is a pro-rated charge then he must charge $165 per hour which is not in line with local rates. If it is a 1 hour minimum service charge he should educate his servicemen not to say "It won't be much, I wasn't here long" I interpreted that statement to mean the charge would be for less than a full hour.
