I had hired this company to load a moving truck for my daughter who was moving across country. Bryan, the owner, required a $100 deposit (he called it a deposit when he required that I pay something up front). Unfortunately, our plans changed and I no longer needed their services. When I called to cancel, he said "no problem"; however, he wasn't sure how to actually refund my money with the system they use. I told him he could write me a check. He said he would figure something out. Two weeks later, I called because I had not received my refund. He thanked me for calling because he said he had completely forgotten since they had been so busy. At this point, he said "I really shouldn't even refund this because it was a non-refundable deposit." I told him he had NEVER told me that. Again, he said he would send my refund. Today, I called yet again (another two weeks) because I still don't have the refund. Now, his story has changed once more. He said today that he doesn't even have enough money to refund me...business has been extremely slow and he doesn't have any money. He told me to call him Monday and he might be able to come up with $50!! How many more stories is he going to tell? DO NOT use this guy! He does NOT run a legitimate business. What a loser.

It went great. Despite being in 90+ degree weather both days, the crew did not let it get to them. They had no problem letting us use our own moving vehicles and even moved our piano without a hitch. They also managed to get the same piano down a turning flight of basement steps WITHOUT damaging any walls (which is more than I can say for the full service movers my new home seller used). The crew were all friendly, fast and professional. The price was definitely right. I would use this company again.

Horrible! If your looking to have your valuables broke you've hired the right moviing company! Broke our refrigerator, daughters armoire, sectional couch, didn't hook washer or dryer back in new house. Nothing they say they'll do gets done. Then at the END they throw extra charges on the bill. Worst moving experience ever. Save your money!

It happened to snow that morning, but the crew did not let  that stop them.  We were scheduled for 9:00am and even though the crew lead had called me that morning telling me they might be a little late due to bad roads they were able to make it on time. They got right to work.  They padded everything.  They were a little short on pads so they had to make 2 trips. Luckily the move was not far, (about a half mile away), so this was not too big of a deal.  With the piano, weight equipment and fridge, it made it a difficult move.  All furniture arrived safely with no damage.  I had originally purchased the $599 deal which included a truck, 4 men, for 4 hours.  It took an additional 3.25 hours which cost an additional $366.  We also tipped the movers, $40 each. Overall, that was still less than what some other companies had quoted me for moving the large furniture.  I would recommend their services to anyone.  Thanks a lot for making my move (on the one day it snowed in December) go smoothly!

The movers were delayed due to someone else's blunder but when they got there, everything went smooth.  As they were loading/unloading, they acted like they were moving their own stuff - well packed and secured in the van.

I had hired them to move quite a few items from my basement to my storage building in the back yard. Curtis and Derrin showed up at 9:00 ( right on time ) and got right to work. I was amazed at how fast they worked. They were very courteous and careful with my items. I would hire them again without hesitation.

Excellent. I had a very difficult whole house move and the these guys went above and beyond. They got us completely moved in one day, and worked late into the evening to make sure the job got done.

I originally sent an email on 11/21/2013 requesting an estimate for my move but I needed to have my move completed by 11/27/2013 so I called and left a message on 11/22/2013. I received a return call that same day by Diego. He gave me a bid and said we set up a time on 11/25/2013 @ 8AM.  When no one showed by 8:15 I called to make sure we were still moving that day (since I had taken time off work).
Diego answered and advised would be there by 9AM, which worked out just fine.  Diego and Curtis arrived right at 9AM. They did a quick survey and went right to work.  They did have had to remove part of a door jamb to move the washer and dryer but they did it quickly and efficiently.
The original estimate was it would take 2 hours(any time over that would be $80/hr charged in 15 minute increments)but removing/replacing the door jamb did add a little more time. The total move time took 2.5 hours.
All in all I am very pleased. Diego and Curtis were both very professional ,pleasant, and courteous young men.
I would recommend and use this company again.

PoorMan's Moving Co. turned what is typically a dreadful experience into a very positive one.  Diego, Curtis, Stephen, and Chase completely impressed my wife and me with their professionalism, work ethic and friendly attitude.  They went above and beyond what is expected (moved our swing set to a neighbor's yard, then another one that the same neighbor had on the side of his house), all the while cracking jokes and being incredibly polite.  They were fast, efficient, careful, and fun to be around.  They worked with and around my two young boys (letting them "help" with the move); and even played a little basketball with them after their job was finished.  I will recommend this company in a heartbeat to anyone who is moving in the near future.  We couldn't have been more pleased.

The packing went very well considering there were probably over 100 boxes.  And they were very fast and professional.  They didn't waist time getting the boxes into the truck and into my house.  Everyone was willing to help to get the job done.

They were a little surprised at the size when they got there, but were able to move both without complaint.  Very friendly to deal with, and we would definitely use this company again.
