The old siding tear-off and new siding installation went amazingly slowly and the company fired the original foreman and put on a new crew that worked much faster. We caught the first crew residing lap siding over a rotten OSB underlayment board and the owner agreed he had a "communication error" with his workers and replaced that OSB board and resided it. The second crew accidentally cut our television/internet cable and had to remove and replace new siding to reinstall the new Time Warner cable (and we had no internet or telephone service for a week). We had to remind the owner that the painting crew had not removed all the paper labels on trim boards/siding before painting. Despite their assurances, we repeatedly had to remind them about labels that ended up being primed and even painted over. The owner advertised that they power wash the siding before priming and painting. We came home and one side of the house was primed over dirt showing visibly dirty footprints because the workers walked over the siding stacks during installation and used stacks of new siding to step on to throw trash in the dumpster (because they blocked the dumpster door with construction supplies and couldn’t open it). The owner agreed that they had not power washed the siding before priming that side of the house and power washed off the dirty primer before repriming. Although the owner had told us that they caulk all nail holes before priming and painting we had to point out numerous nail heads that were primed without being caulked over. Siding installers and painters also used some loosened stones from our landscape path to stabilize their ladders, placing the rocks on top of landscape plants (evergreen junipers, perennials) that severely damaged or killed some of them. Additionally, we had 30 nail pops on the inside wallboard of our house caused by the removal of our old siding when they pried the siding off the wall studs. We mudded, sanded, primed, repaired, and painted these numerous areas ourselves. It was clear the crew was rough with the house when we came home after the first day of siding removal and one of our internal wall light switch plates had shattered. A couple tiles in a shower on an external wall also popped out due to the siding removal (which they replaced). Our AC unit was not protected from paint/nails and had to be cleaned and serviced afterwards. The owner continued to agree that all of our complaints were valid and was consistently nice during this process. All of his crew, competent or not, were also really nice. However, we homeowners had to be very very diligent to make sure that elements of shoddy workmanship were redone (which they always pleasantly promised to do). Wes McIntyre did fix our sump pump drain (as compensation for our interior wallboard repairs), although it subsequently froze in cold weather due to poor design. Subsequent repairmen noticed that out-of-eyesight second story siding was not well painted.

We met the Kidd's at the home show, we were intrigued by the products they had, and made an appointment for an estimate. He left us a proposal and the work was scheduled once the windows were available. Unfortunately one of the bathroom windows had a double lock, but should have had a single lock. Mr. Kidd was to re-order and replace it. We made a couple calls over a couple months. When the window arrived it still was the wrong one. Again a couple more months until this was resolved. We were told we would be compensated for our distress, after one year we are still waiting...
Response from MISSOURI SIDING, WINDOW & ROOFING
"CUSTOMER HAD ALL BUT 1 WINDOW ARRIVE CORRECTLY, IT HAD TWO LOCKS WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE HAD 1 LOCK. THIS WAS A MANAFACTURER ERROR...IT WAS TOTALLY OUT OF OUR CONTROL SINCE WE DO NOT MAKE THE WINDOWS OURSELVES. WE TOLD THE CUSTOMER THAT "WE WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT". SHE APPARENTLY TOOK THAT AS WE WOULD PAY HER OFF, WHICH WAS NOT OUR INTENT(WE ARE A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS WITH LOW MARGINS). WE ORDERED THE CORRECT 1 LOCK SASH FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND HAD IT SEND OUT WHEN IT ARRIVED. WE DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL OR ANYTHING FROM THE CUSTOMER UNTIL 9 MONTHS LATER WHEN THEY LEFT THIS BAD REVIEW. WE DON'T FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE OFF FOR A GOOD REVIEW."

First this product is amazing and looks wonderful on our house. Second the crew who worked on our home was professional and friendly easy to communicate with and hard working. We want to thank Missouri siding for making our home the envy of the neighborhood.

This is a father and son company. Calls were returned promptly usually by Chris, the owners son. They were prompt with appts and the owner, Bill, visited the job site during the install. The product took about two weeks to come in and the install took 8 days. The crew, also a father and his sons, started on time and worked Saturday and Sunday to beat a rain forecast. Everyone was very friendly and the work looks great. They have been in business for 20 yrs and are members of the BBB and NARI. We are our own general contractors and this company has been the best to work with so far.
