Home Depot sent Joe Romay. He quoted windows at $400-$800 each. I was shocked. I asked him to address my guttering, soffit, and fascia, as that was my primary concern. He was writing up the contract on my front porch, and then hung around talking after he had finished. I had already told him I had other things to do and wasn't feeling well, and he had been there far too long when he started in with the sales pressure. He started fast-talking, which I recognized. I told him I was unable to commit to anything because of my son's health condition, of which he then claimed his own son suffered. He was laying on pressure, and then trying to appeal to my emotions.
I reported this to Jim Ziegler at Home Depot, and he offered to send out the sales manager, Dan Merrick, for the next time Joe was to come. They came and did an evaluation and took some measurements. They got everything together, and Joe was working on the contract. Dan and I got to speaking about World War II, and Dan began staring at my breasts for a solid four minutes. I was very uncomfortable, but I was still going to move forward with the contract because I didn't want to lose out on the sale. The next morning, I woke up and decided to cancel the order. I called the store and reported the incident. They had someone reach out to me from HR. Jim Ziegler emailed me after that and claimed that they were in no way accountable because I had cancelled my contract. I cancelled the contract because of the behavior.
