I live in a rural area and I made an appointment for a time when Steve had other business in my area. He arrived on time and everything was done professionally. This piano had been moved 6 times and hadn't been tuned in 30+ years. He fixed the keys that were "dead" and tuned it as far as he could in 1 visit. He explained that he would need to return in a month or so to bring it further in tune. It sounds remarkable for the poor shape that it was in, even after just the first tuning. Steve is returning in January and I expect that his services will be just as remarkable. His price is also very reasonable and he is very pleasant to work with.

This was my first Angie's List service, and one of the main reasons I opened an account. I'm glad I did! Steve was polite and responsive; while he doesn't work evenings or weekends, I was able to schedule a time that worked for me. He arrived early, and was polite and understanding when I was running late. Charged exactly what was quoted, although no repairs were needed. Took approximately 1 hour from start to finish, tuned the piano very nicely, said there was nothing wrong with it and could tell when it was tuned last down to the season. Would recommend to anyone looking for an experienced and affordable piano tuner!

Mr. Kessler seemed to do a decent job at tuning the piano, but was rather unprofessional in his dealings with me as its owner. He expressed that our 60 year old spinet piano (handed down through generations) was so terrible sounding that no one could play on it at even an intermediate level without significant frustration. This was completely illogical based on my own experience. I got the sense that he might get a commission from someone if he steered us toward buying a grand piano, because I couldn't imagine why he would otherwise be so derogatory about the piano I had been playing intermediate to early advanced pieces on, without much frustration, for my entire life. For this reason, I will be turning to someone else to tune our piano in the future.

Very thorough. Excellent work. The price was $20 more than I thought it would be, but piano had not been tuned for years and required additional work and time. I would highly recommend Steve for piano tuning. And....he played a beautiful tune upon completion of his work. Extra bonus!

Great overall experience, In Sept. 2015 I called him back for sticking keys to which he responded and took apart seven key actions, replacing the metal pins and got everything back working again. Have had several tuners in the past with varying degrees of success but Steve Kessler has been head and shoulders above the rest. Plan on using him for the foreseeable future. It is really hard to find a good piano tuner,I'm glad I found him here on Angie's list.
