Tree Service
Luke and an assistant removed a dying mature silver maple tree at least 60 feet in height and three feet in diameter at the base. He is fully insured, providing us a copy of the insurer's commitment. Yet he was able to remove this tree and its stump for just $550, a fraction of what we expected. I watched him do it. He stood in the tree, securely roped to it, and worked with a chain saw; his assistant pulled the branches down to the right place and took the chain saw to cut it up. He also removed the debris, using a trailer attached to his pickup. He came back with a stump grinder to remove the stump on a different day.
He also removed dead wood in the towering oak trees in our front yard for another $250. These trees must be 80 feet tall. The day he did the trimming, he forgot to take out a particular limb as agreed to with my husband--this limb wasn't dead but was threatening the power wires. I paid him for the work to date, and later my husband complained that this limb was still there. So I called Luke, and he came back and removed it, though he had already been paid.
Luke is from an outlying county but does work in St. Louis, including St. Louis City north side.
