All work was done in a professional and complete manner. Owner seemed highly qualified, educated, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Price was very competitive (although not the lowest), cleanup was good. We would certainly hire again.

Phil was very nice to work with and took care of the work as discussed. It took some time to get them out with all of the storms and rain we had but once he made it out to give me the quote things went smoothly and right on schedule.
This is the second tree service I had been trying to get out and this was the only one that worked with me within a reasonable time.

Pros: The work was done well. There was virtually no evidence that I had ever had limbs down in my yard. Also, they came back and repaired the front lawn where their equipment had killed some grass.

Cons: Some lack of communication. After the initial cleanup, LT left the tree debris at the curb and I didn't know if/when they were going to remove it and had to call them about it. Regarding the cost, the initial quoted cost over the phone was less than what they wanted to charge when the work was done. After a little discussion, they agreed to go with the first quote so it all ended well for me.

They didn't just come down and say, "Take the tree down." They gave us treatments for the tree, because we were trying to save them. They took care of four trees for us. They taught us quite a bit on how to take care of our trees.

Great job. Came back a few days later to remove one additional limb near a phone line that had been overlooked. Living Tree Care has an unusual business sign that they may ask to display after the job. The sign is a stained plywood cutout of a lumberjack character made to appear to be swinging from whatever tree limb it hangs from, along with their web site address. It is well made, but not the standard yard sign many would expect.

I have spent thousands over the last few years salvaging and cleaning up from ice and electrical storms that damaged my (not-at-all valuable!) trees. This was one of the better deals I've experienced, and my neighbor was thrilled with the elm tree being trimmed away from his property. The only problems were that their chopper apparently broke down in front of my house and left a bad chemical stain on the concrete street. Someone came out again after I called and together I think we've removed most traces of it. They also hung a company sign between two of my trees in front, without asking me beforehand, which another neighbor objected to so I eventually asked that it be removed. Note: It is much better to deal with the consulting arborist than to try to reach or talk to the owner. Also, the office person is courteous and a pleasure to deal with.

They did such a great job, we could hardly tell they had been there. In fact, they came when we were both at work. If it weren't for our next door neighbor, we might not have realized for a few days that they had come and gone. From our first call to the office, which seemed staffed by a friendly and professional woman (Wendy), to the follow up conversations with the arborist, David, the whole crew was great. We could give no hire rating than saying we'll suggest this company to all of our friends and neighbors.

The quality of their work was good, and they worked relatively quickly. Everything was done within the estimate, and so far all the trees are doing well.

I had called a few tree removal companies and had gotten extremely outrages bids, anywhere from $2500 to over $5000, they claimed it was because of the trees growing through the electric lines. I received this co. as a referral. I called and spoke with Dan Kennedy. He agreed to come by and take a look. Gave me a bid of $1000. Dan noticed the Red Bud that I had just recently planted and gave me a few tips on it. We agree on the date which actually was made because the electric co. had to drop the lines, and they made the date. The crew came will we were at work. Didn't make a lot of noise even though they were using chains saws and such, took the wood and even clean up the wood shavings from the stump grinding. I would hire them again, but I don't have any more trees. I have referred this company and would do so again. I love the fact that they are certified arborists.

It's a small outfit but it's such good service. They are very clear about what they're going to do. Very careful, their cleanup was good and they let you play over time. I've used them for a number of years and that's probably why.

Phil is a great guy. His crew was courteous and respectful. They cleaned up well after the job was done. However, this work was performed in the winter of 2005 and when the trees bloomed in spring it was obvious that many of the dead limbs had not been removed from the trees. Phil was contacted and said that that happens with winter work and he would get the work done. This never happened and the dead limbs persist this spring. Responsiveness is the biggest problem of this company, at least for me.
