After having another piano mover tell us that our piano could not be placed in our finished basement (not a walkout, but it has a wide stairwell with no landing), we called Will at St. Louis Piano. He asked for pictures of the baby grand and the stairwell and told us that it would be no problem to move it to the basement. He and his crew came out and easily moved the piano to exactly where I wanted it. They set it up carefully, and Will proceeded to entertain us by playing ragtime before he left. Delightful! If we ever move again, they will definitely be the company we call!

I recently used this company to move and store my grand piano while my hardwood floors were being refinished. Seeing the level of expertise in dismantling and moving the instrument made me realize how important it is to choose movers that have so much experience in this area. They were efficient, friendly and helpful - even offering advice on fixing an unrelated piece of furniture. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a piano mover!

I rang every piano mover and many other movers in St. Louis to get my piano moved. In the end I chose St Louis Piano because of talking to Will Wheeler, who with his colleague Dan, moved my piano. Not only do they know and understand pianos, Will loves pianos and is involved in rescuing and finding new homes for old pianos. He understood my needs immediately, time and budget constraints and found a way to help me. The move was efficiently done, the piano was carefully handled and arrived in great shape. Will even gave us a quick recital to check it was in good working order. The price was very competitive with other movers, both specialized piano movers and general movers. I recommend them without reservation.

very well; he kept me informed when one mover was not available and they worked out a way to do it with two men who really knew what they were doing.

Very well. The 400+ pound organ was handled with great care. They loaded it into the trailer and strapped it down with protection in preparation for my driving it to Texas. The organ functioned perfectly upon arrival in Texas.

I was able to get same day service and they were priced very competitively. Will and crew were very easy to deal with, very quick to respond, and used great care when moving the piano. They were even able to tell me the age of the piano which was great info. They aren't the run of the mill movers, you can tell they really enjoy pianos and the history that come with them. I highly recommend St. Louis Piano.

Will and his crew were very nice and courteous but there were a couple of problems. After getting the piano set up, I noticed that there were 2 significant and noticeable scrapes on the top of the piano. I was very disappointed and I asked Will about those scrapes and he said that he saw them in the truck and should have said something.... I cannot prove at all that the scrapes were done by St Louis Piano, they could have happened in the initial move to the truck or in transit, but I told him that he should have told me when he saw them so I would know who or what caused the scrapes. And - why wouldn't you tell the customer when, clearly, the customer is going to notice and, if you did not cause it, you would want the customer to have evidence of that. I wondered even more about the honesty of the company when, a few weeks later, I was playing the piano with my grandson and the lyre brace fell off and hit the floor! I crawled under the piano and looked at it and saw that they had never fastened the lyre brace; they simply pushed them both up and, I guess, hoped they would just stay. When I called Will about this, he said he does that work himself so he was sure it should have been done correctly. He came out right away and when he looked at it, he said he remembered that he could not get the connecting bolt in correctly so that is why they hadn't been fastened... So, I guess he just hoped I wouldn't ever notice. I mentioned to Will that this is not a professional way to conduct business. Again, he is a very nice young man but I felt it was important to share my experience as I would not be able to recommend them to anyone and I now have to pay to get the scrapes fixed and hope it will look okay.

They picked up a baby grand that we purchased and delivered it to our home. They are very knowledgable about pianos and were very careful with the piano and in my home with my floors, etc. and very thoughtful on helping me decide the exact right spot for it. They were very nice and friendly from the minute I called them and very easy to deal with when I needed to change the original moving date due to snow and ice on the roads. I will definitely call them again if I want to move the piano again and to get it tuned, etc. I really like that it's a family business passed down - because you can tell they really care about delivering great service to their customers!

While there was a mix up in the day, they waited for me to come back from the airport and carefully delivered and set up the piano. The men were curteous and professional. I would highlly recommend using them and would do so in the future.

I called only a few days in advance and they were able to offer me a Saturday evening appointment, which worked great for us. They were quick, friendly, and on time, and they moved the piano with great care. We paid $140 for the move. It seems a little bit high, but it's actually the lowest price I was able to find among several companies - I only checked with companies specializing in piano moves, but I worried that more general moving companies might not use the proper equipment.
I highly recommend St. Louis Piano!
