Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers - High Ridge

Not good. My wife waited for the car since it was only suppose to take a couple of hours and then they didn't get all the parts until the next day so after waiting another hour they gave a ride home. When we picked up the car there was oil all over the steering wheel and stick shift. Also they sold us a new battery and told us I could get a refund by Toyota so they put the old battery in the trunk without any paper underneath directly on the carpet. This is at least the third time I have gone there and the service is not good. They never seemed to have enough help and sell you additional service just not sure we need.

When they got the car on the rack they could see that the problem was with the oil filter and not with the oil system, so they replaced the oil filter and I was out on the road in no time.

Made an appointment 4 days in advance for alignment and tire rotation. When I arrived my for appointment I found the appointment was not recorded. Fortunately the alignment bay was empty. Stated all my requirements including torque specifications of 92 lb/ft on all four wheels to avoid warping. Took for granted these instructions would be followed. Waited in waiting room for my Jaguar to be serviced properly. Took delivery and immediately found two problems. The first was the steering wheel was not centered (the very first step in the sequence) was set about two degrees off to the left. Second was that there was a terrible grinding noise when applying brakes. Found out that wheels were warped from over/under torquing of lug nuts. None met the spec I requested. Some lug nuts were way over the spec and some randomly under spec. Took the Jaguar back and asked to have steering wheel centered. They refused to acknowledge it saying: the alignment was within spec. The alignment was indeed in spec but they caused two other problems that I didn't have when they corrected the alignment and Dobbs in OLIVETTE refused to correct what they alone caused. There were plenty of excuses and arrogance but I had to pay again to have my vehicle made whole. I should have taken my well maintained vehicle to a more competent place initially because I also noticed that the work area was dirty, the morale low (except for the lone female employee). All the rest had a sort of surly attitude bordering on contempt. Never again Dobbs Tire will I entrust my lovely vehicle to you hacks. In checking their record with the Better Business Bureau I found other businesses of this type had about 5 complaints with some being resolved. DOBBS had 84 with none resolved. I'm not alone take your vehicle somewhere else and avoid the backyard mechanics service.

I bought a car off of EBay down in Florida and they told me a couple of things. Whenever you but a car for $1000 you want to get it checked out. I got an evaluation of 100 different points. One of the things was the boot on my rack and pinion needs to be replaced. I had possibly a small leak, I'm not really sure because I had a pretty bad oil leak. Within a couple of weeks I started getting big leaking to the point that I was going through quarts of power steering fluid. I took it to another place because they were cheaper to get everything fixed and replaced.
I've used them many times in the past and was always very pleased. They have always done good work for me, including doing things for free.

Overall, it went very well. They have very good service. They do good work.
