Stamped Concrete - Install
$6,000
Don?t use! Poured a stamped concrete patio 9 months later had several large cracks in it. Had to get BBB involved because nothing was being done. Now we just have a stamped patio with cracks that have white filler In them & cracking even more. This is what you get for $6000 $6000

We hired Aim to Amaze to remove a deteriorating concrete patio and replace it with a new colored and stamped concrete patio. On the day of pouring, they ran out of concrete, so the truck had to leave to retrieve more to finish the job. The crew added 2x4’s to stabilize the concrete that was just laid and waited for the truck to return. Also, as previously agreed upon, they did not include a gravel base and they did not use an additional 2” pour under the hot tub. Days later we noticed a difference in coloring and texture all over the patio, and a 12-foot ridge with a crack down the middle where they had placed the 2x4’s. Seeing the obvious defects, the owner called a colleague, a surface specialist, to look at the area. The specialist suggested to cut another joint where the defect was and seal it. He also said that he would fix the uneven coloring and stamping throughout the whole area. We decided to get another opinion from a concrete specialist we knew. When we gave the owner the alternate suggestion, he said he could not do it. He said he would try and find someone else to get suggestions on how to fix it but could not find anyone. At this point he said he would forgive the balance owed ($4,750) if I would agree to work through his colleague and pay him directly rather than Aim to Amaze. After much back and forth with the owner we went ahead and turned back to his colleague and asked him if he would come by and talk to us, but he said he no longer wanted to be involved considering the conflict we were in with Aim to Amaze. So months later, we are right back to where we started but with $4,750 less in our pocket.

I was out of town when they were able to come. They contacted ahead of time but I agreed to let them work. I came home and the trees were gone with no visible damage to the surrounding area. They left the area in great shape. The price was fair.

The work was fantastic, Kenny and Rick did a beautiful job of cutting down and removing the two trees and all the debris and then Rick ground the stumps and filled in the holes. Sadly it was one of the hottest recent days but they completed the work in a timely manner. The transformation to our yard is amazing, the price was great as was their responsiveness. We would definitely hire them again.

All went well. It was a massive tree, but the employees took their time and did a great job. There were a few mishaps, which, of course, is going to happen when you have a small area to take down a massive tree, but Aim To Amaze stepped up and fixed everything to our satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good tree service company.

Aim to Amaze was not only quick to respond to my phone call (about 5 mins), but also was on the scene w/ in a few hours. Tree was being held up by a 3 ft retaining wall, so it was a bit precarious, but they removed it quickly with no damage to the neighbors garage which was under the tree at that point. Price seemed steep to me, but we need to get it done quickly.

During the installation, I had expressed concern with the fact that they were only burying the pipes 3-4" under the ground. They assured me "that was the way they always did it". ... However, over the course of the next day we had 5 inches of rain and the pipes were then sitting on top of the ground. ... When I told the owner, Freak Jerca, that he needed to comeback and either cover the pipes with a few inches of dirt, or take them up and dig the trenches deeper., his response was to send me an invoice for the job and tell me that if I didn't pay it, he would put a lien on my property. ... Because I didn't want a lien on my property, I went ahead and paid him. I wrote a note on the invoice that he needed to come back and fix the issues with the job. He then said he wasn't going to cash my check and that he was going to "turn my complaint over to his Lawyer". ... I then looked Mr. Jerca up on CaseNet. I wish I had though to do that BEFORE I hired him!
Response from Aim to Amaze Outdoor Services
"I would like to clarify that the 10” digging depth is industry standard for corrugated pipe. We use PVC pipe, which has many advantages over the corrugated. It does not need to be placed at the depth of the corrugated to be effective, it is stronger, more efficient and more durable. Our owner Frank and several crew supervisors have years of experience in drainage and erosion control. The day after installing the pipe we received 5.5 inches of rain. With the massive amount of rain, the day after installation it did not allow time for the seed to germinate. This is what caused the pipes to wash out at the end not that the job was originally done incorrectly. We will send an experienced crew member back out to the property with soil to cover the end of the pipes. We recommend also sodding the area to prevent any future erosion, although we would not furnish nor install the sod. We are very interested in coming to an amicable agreement regarding this work."

Aim to Amaze handled our relatively small project promptly and professionally. They even cleaned up a couple small things in our yard we hadn't expected, and it looked great when they were done! The price was incredibly reasonable. They followed up before and after to make sure we were satisfied.

Not as weedfree and healthy as a more expensive service but worth the price. It certainly is healthier than if I was doing it myself.

The crew arrived late, traffic I suspect. Saws were dull so work stopped while one guy sharpened them. It would be nice to have spares so the junior man could change chain while cutting continued. The trailer wasn't large enough to contain logs so two men left for quite a while to unload it. When I cut up the last tree they felled but didn't have time to finish, I rented a dump trailer to haul it to the composting site. One guy 30 seconds and the trailer was empty, they should get that trailer. I called to ask about an extra charge for the fourth man ( the A.L. deal was three men for a day) the salesman, Jerca yes it's his name, was less than pleasant to deal with. He wasn't aware that I removed the last tree and offered to split the extra. I paid his price in full and have never heard from him since. I have would not hire them again.

When I sought bids, their's was the lowest--applied a 5% AL discount--and they also sent a copy of their insurance coverage. No other firm did that! It was easy to schedule the service date; the office was prompt to reply to calls and emails. On the appointed day, the crew arrived a little ahead of schedule and got right on it. They worked well as a team, always trying to keep my (and my neighbor's) yard free of debris. They were friendly and professional and did a reasonably good job of cleaning up all twigs and shavings.

Better than I imagined. They used extra boulders on my property to build a retaining wall to hold back the material they dugout and re-positioned to create a flat area for the fire pit. Check out the photos. The whole team was great to work with. I would highly recommend you give them a chance to earn your business.
