T & L Tree Service serves both commercial and residential properties in St Louis, St Louis County, St Charles County and Metro St Louis for over 50 years. T & L Tree Service continues to educate and train our employees using the American National Standards Institute (ANSI standards) by following the specifications and recommendations to ensure the proper care for selective pruning, dead-wooding, and limb or tree removal. We employ ISA Certified Certified Arborists and are member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). Good and timely communication on quote, and day before arrival two weeks later. Offered senior discount 10%. Group was well organized, had the right equipment (including bobcat to move heavy trunk pieces) and experienced. Protected my yard with boards to drive bucket truck close to backyard. All work done safely, and clean-up was thorough. Price was well-below other quotes. I will use them again for tree service

We were very happy with the work done by T & L from start to finish. We got an estimate within a few days of requesting the estimate. The trees that were thinned look great. I think they did a thorough job of grinding down the spruce stump. They cleaned up the yard nicely at the conclusion of their work. My only complaint is that I was not contacted when they could not show up on the first scheduled day because they were running behind. I know this happens but I took off work to be at home and some communication would have been nice.

It went very well. Tim, the owner, came to give us an on the spot estimate. The work was scheduled for about 3 wks later and then had to be postponed for a few days due to weather. I was appropriately informed ahead of time. The job was done professionally with good attention to clean up. We have used T and L previously and had been happy with their work. We only got the one bid so can't really compare price but it seemed like a fair price for all the work that was done.

I believe they are trained arborists. They can recognize different diseases; they also know how to cut limbs properly without damaging the limbs. They are experts!

They came out and gave me an estimate last spring, and when I called just after Christmas they honored their original bid. They were able to schedule my job within a few days. Arrived on time and completed the job within a few hours. Thoroughly cleaned up site. Would definitely use T&L again!

Update - we had four plants including two expensive spiral spruce shrubs planted in the original service. All of the died within 2 years despite frequent watering and feeding. In 2012 we called T& L to inform them and they said the shrubs were not covered for replacement since it had been two years. We accepted that. However, when we finally replaced the dead shrubs we found that they were poorly planted (not dug deep enough, root ball not loosened, and planting area not cleared of obstructions that impaired growth).
Given that they did not do a professional job whith these plantings we would not recommend them and would not use them in the future.

My front yard contains an old Oak tree that is over 50ft tall. It was so full the house was barely visible from the street. I got several estimates for trimming the tree but T & L provided not only an estimate for trimming, thinning and shaping the tree but also provided an estimate for the option of tree removal which was an option I had not considered. T&L was prompt and professional and tidy. They cleaned the area underneath the tree and the walkway so thoroughly you could not tell trimming had been done.

It was a very positive experience. They had about seven workers here and plenty of vehicles. One would climb the tree or the cherry picker and cut branches. They worked for two days. If any of them saw something needing to be done they did it right away, it seemed as though they were trained very well. They cleaned up very well and even swept the street. Out of the 6-8 estimates I got, they were the best.

They were quick to provide and estimate and answer questions, and even did the job sooner than their original time forecast. They did a fine job, reaching up to some VERY high spots in the top of the tree (about 3 to 5 stories high, really I think these are among the tallest pines in St. Louis). They also were highly respectful of my request that they try to not bother the woodpeckers in the tree, who are still happily nesting there. They also cleaned up well, there was no negative trace that they had even been there.
