Basically the contractor miscalculated the amount of material and labor therefore cutting his costs by shorting us on concrete and materials that we payed extra for on our bill. We paided for a extra yard of concrete and still got shorted. Also paid for extra washed gravel that was miscalculated. Everything else about the job was rushed and shoddy workmanship was the result. We feel that this contractor was dishonest with us from beginning to end of job and we will not recommend his work to anyone in this area.
Description of Work: Removed old concrete patio and replaced with new concrete, however new concrete pour was not the dimesion quoted and agreed to with contractor and home owner. Concrete pad did not extend out enough to properly support overhead porch support post. Support post 4X4" extended out pass edge of concrete pour. Footing for this post was also missed by several feet. The 4X4" posts were enclosed (boxed in with 1X8" boards. These posts will have to be replaced to ensure safety of the overhead structure. These box pillars were not extended all the way to the top of porch deck and were installed out of alignment and out of plane. Mited joints did not line up. Contractor assured us our landscaping would not be damaged and bobcat with bucket would transport concrete to the pour site and a concrete mixer truck would not be allowed in our yard. The contractor allowed the heavy concrete truck to rut our yard and our neighbor's yard. He was supposed to sub contract the repair for the landscaping but this did not happen. Estimated repair by Roland's landscaping quote was $1,700.00 to bring in dirt to even ruts, seed and strawed. The outside porch steps were removed by contractor to pour concrete and these steps (ballasters) were damaged and not replaced. Our outside basement door was dented and concrete was splashed on it. A hole was poked in our screened in porch sun screen. Our newly installed downspout was installed out of level and extra holes were drilled in the downspout? Contractor was supposed to return and saw a joint in the concrete pad for expansion but did not.
