Contacted owner Mike Heinerickson based on a recommendation that I received from Porter's Home Center in Laurie, MO for an estimate on the project. He was one of four contractors that I got estimates from. One was a mega-contractor out of Jefferson City associated with Home Depot.com that came with a suitcase full of sample and a whole dog and pony show about different grades of vinyl and weight of aluminum for guttering. That estimate was in excess of $13,000 for "construction grade" materials (the cheapest). The second contractor is a well known local siding and guttering service who gave us an estimate on the siding and guttering on the spot, but could not bid the windows until his "window guy" came out and measured. The window guy never showed up despite several follow up calls. The third contractor came out and took measurements but had to price materials and I never heard from him again. Luckily Mike came out, took measurements, and discussed ideas to not only complete our basic requirements but also improve the overall final appearance of our house and visual impression from the water (lake) and street. Because of our planned family reunion at the end of August, we had a tight time schedule constraint that we asked Mike to take into account. He had to juggle some of his job scheduling but arranged to start the following week. He and his partner, Dave, worked logically on the portions of the project that could begin with readily available materials while the custom ordered windows and siding were being manufactured and delivered. At one point he contacted me about the cost of screening for the porch in 48 inch width and suggested I price the material in St. Louis where we live on weekends. That suggestion saved us about 60% on the material. From an appearance standpoint, there were a number of suggestions that really improve the overall look and symmetry of the house and porch. They don't have the equipment for new seamless gutters, but he power washed our old ones and then repainted them to look like new, again savings hundreds. Throughout the project the guys were always reliable and hard working, showing up even when we were not there and when weather was not optimal. We can't recommend these guys highly enough.
