British Traditions Inc

Our contractor had worked with the same cabinetry company for years, but that gentleman had just retired and they needed to find someone new for our project. They ended up finding British Traditions and that sounded fine to us. We have remodeled almost our entire 1932 Tudor at this point and have worked with many companies and subs. It seemed as though we were small fish to BT because they do a lot of commercial work and we got lost in the fray. I'm writing this very late (because we now have an issue), but if memory serves, it took them double the amount of time they quoted, which increased the costs with our GC. Also, when the cabinets were installed the nail holes were obvious, but they still needed us to go through and mark the ones that needed to be filled. Seriously? For $30k? We got over all of that, but now one of our drawers looks terrible (after only four years) and I contacted BT for help. After multiple calls and emails I got back a very curt response that my warranty has expired (which is fine - I knew that already) and it would cost $75 for someone to come look at it (after they already have detailed pictures) and quoted an hourly price and let me know I needed to prepay. What wonderful customer service. If you are in the residential space, stay away from them - they are overpriced, their quality wasn't worth it, and they don't care what happens after you pay them.

Terrible. Horrific even. Unquestionably the single worst engagement I've ever had with a company. 

After that lead in, I hopefully don't have to give the super long version of the story, but you really cannot believe anything this company says. Our contract was to have cabinets installed by April 25th (8 weeks after we placed our order following having them designed). It is July as of this writing and they still aren't done. 

We paid 50% of this project up front ($18,000), and I feel like this was the worst money I've ever spent. We haven't been able to get anyone there to return calls. Even when we've worked our way on the phone with the owner we've only been greeted with absolutely absurd excuses as to what is taking so long. Followed very quickly by a request for a check. Amazing... over two months late, not complete and asking for a check repeatedly. 

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. If you work with someone who recommends them (like our designer did) you should get rid of that person immediately just for suggesting it.
