Very clean, I could not tell they where here except for the new furnace.
Our furnace did not work properly after the installation of our new unit. I spoke with APEX's front office within a week of the installation, and the representatives I spoke with said that there was no connection between their installation and our furnace not working. APEX sent a technician out to my house post-installation and the technician confirmed the same. In the Fall, some 5 months after installation, I called APEX again--this time to fix my furnace. The first technician could not remedy the problem. I was not charged for that visit. APEX then sent a technician with 20+ years experience and he tested each circuit individually, which took almost two hours to complete. However, his thorough trial-and-error approach yielded the problem. A component in the new humidifier APEX had installed was defective, preventing the furnace from operating. This experienced technician indicated he had only seen such a problem once or twice in his career, APEX replaced the part at no charge and did not charge for this final attempt.
In all, the installation went well, though it took a total of four different APEX technician visits to rightly identify the problem with my furnace. I greatly appreciate their getting all of my old and new components working together, but APEX personnel--technicians and the customer service representatives--were kindly and professionally adamant that there was no connection between their installation and my furnace malfunctioning. While they could not have known that the humidifier component was bad, I would have greatly appreciated at least one APEX employee acknowledging that it was possible that my furnace malfunction could have been related to, if not caused by, their installation.
Additionally, we have had problems with condensation dripping off of the air handler unit and falling on the wooden floor, as the drip pan installed was not large enough to cover the area. Recently the A/C unit has started not performing well, and we will have to have them back out to take a look at that. I checked that I would not use them again, but to be fair if you are doing a more standard and less complicated install they would probably be just fine.
Very frustrated!
