I am a local investor in the Branson area and I was looking to excavate, regrade, and change the slope of the driveway at a property I recently purchased. The driveway was in terrible shape, but itâ s slope and lack of proper drainage majorly contributed to some severe water issues I desperately needed to remedy. Using Angieâ s list, I requested a quote from all the companies who could take on this kind of work. And as it turns out, Mike with Advanced Excavating & Grading was the only one who took the time to answer my call. Everyone else just flat missed it big time. I received no other responses to my request, and to their loss. I was pleasantly surprised when speaking with Mike over the phone, at first contact. He was cordial, easy to converse with, and he didnâ t carry any kind of attitude that made you feel stupid just because you may not know everything about this kind of work. After our conversation, Mike came out immediately to assess the driveway project and followed up quickly with a clearly laid-out and itemized quote. I mention this because more and more companies Iâ ve worked with donâ t take the time to even describe what youâ re paying them for! They just expect you to take their word for it. I wish that werenâ t true with everyone, but after working with Mike, I found him to be every bit a man of his word. It seems to be rare to find someone like that these days. He said he would be there and he was. He said he would finish the job and he didâ with EXCELLENCE. He even went above and beyond to ensure the job was done exactly right and without cutting any corners or delaying the project by working a few hours here and there. After day one, I undoubtedly knew Mike was the perfect one for the job. He arrived early, he stayed late, and he even had time to speak with me over the phone and answer any questions I had. I cannot fail to mention how Mike was a day or so from finishing the entire job when we decided to add a French drain at the last. Mike was extremely understanding and was willing and ready to take care of it for us; even though it meant extending his job with us. With a lot of people and business owners, when things change or need to be added midstream, it takes them out of their comfort zone so much they get an attitude with you and give you the hardest time. But not Mike! He was quick to make new plans, re-organize, and he even met early in the morning with our incoming roof gutters installer to make sure the downspouts connected with the French drain at just the right spots! Mike did the excavation, he designed the driveway border, laid the 3/4â clean rock down, graded everything with precision, dug the trenches and laid the French drain pipe, and all without any issues or attitude whatsoever. He even had a smile on his face at the end of the day! Thatâ s a good man right there, I donâ t care who you are. A bonus thing Mike did for me was just the icing on the cake. He allowed me to order the materials so I could purchase them on my rewards credit card, but on one order, I purchased too many blocks. And what did Mike do? He loaded $650 worth of unused Denver blocks and their caps on his trailer and returned them to Menardâ s for me! It saved me bunches of time, effort, and money from having to take care of that myself. And if I hadnâ t already mentioned the gobs of other good things about my experience with Mike, that one thing should tell you all that you need to know; that Advanced Excavating and Grading is the good and honest and right one to call for the job. Thank you, Mike, for being so great, professional, fun, and easy to work with. Things never felt foreign, awkward, or cold at any point. Instead, you made it feel like family.
