Although the issue was clearly explained to the company when the appointment was scheduled, the technician lacked the necessary equipment to properly perform the inspection and essentially did nothing other than remove a panel and look inside the unit. The technician was obviously a very heavy smoker. I doubt he could have smelled the leak even if he had spent time trying to find it. He took our check for the service call, but left no receipt or other paperwork to document his work. I used this same company many years ago and was satisfied. This time we felt cheated. It was a complete waste of time and money.

I had to use them through my home warranty. Sierra did just fine. There was no cost as it was a follow up to the original air conditioner. It took them a really long time for them to get back to us. It was during the heat wave again so there were a lot of people. The quality of work was good. I would use them again. My insurance company tried to get me another company for this visit and I told them no I wanted Sierra. It was during the heatwave so I am sure there were a lot of emergencies. We had no air conditioner for a week.  My biggest concern was for my pets.

We were referred to this company by our home warranty company.
I was not present for the work, but in reviewing the work order I found one factual and one thing that just bugged me.
One, the work report stated that the AC had never functioned this season, this is factually incorrect. The AC worked for about 2-3 weeks at the beginning of the summer season. 
Then the technician stated that he had inspected the unit while here on a service call for our heater during the winter and had warned us about its dirtiness at that point. I have no idea why this would be included on our work order.  While my recollection might be off on what we discussed, I certainly never authorized nor witnessed the technician inspect the AC unit (which is outdoors) during the winter and I do not recall him saying anything about services that may be needed related to the furnace. I believe we did discuss the age of the AC unit for a bit (it is surprisingly old). I was also suspicious of work performed over the winter on the heater (the igniter malfunctioned only a week after the visit) and combined with this latest experience you can be sure I will not be having Sierra Mechanical work on our appliances again.
