Owen Corning had defective shingles so we had to replace our roof. We had them for I think 9 years, maybe even 10. They gave us credit for $2061. In the meantime, we paid $10173.00. They were terrific. They were reasonable. I did not think they were out of line. They cleaned up before they left. They did a great job. Everything was off the ground before they left and they worked fast. In case this makes a difference, I got this recommendation from a neighbor one subdivision over and a couple of her neighbors also used them. And she did, and they all loved them. They were also real good at giving me color possibilities. They would give me the addresses to those homes so we could drive around and look at them. They went out of their way. Owen Corning gave us the samples but Mississippi Valley told us where to go look at them. We were down to 4 or 5 and with our house and the color of it, we just decided that we needed to go look and not decide from a tiny sample. We drove around for 2 Sundays and looked and when we spotted it, we didn't hesitate. We knew that was the one. It was the color. It's a lot different than looking at a small sample that is 4 inches by 2 inches wide. There is no comparison.

Excellent service and repair

Everyone I talked to was courteous and helpful. They came out when they said they would and kept me in the loop throughout the job. There were a couple of issues with the old roof once it was torn up that needed to be addressed. Brent was very transparent and helpful in explaining my options and took pictures and sent them to me so I could best decide what option I wanted to go with. This was an excellent experience and I would use them again.

The installation went quickly.  We contracted them two days before Thanksgiving and although they weren't able to install the roof the next day as they originally claimed, they did cover up the portions that were leaking so that no more damage would be caused by predicted heavy rains.  Brent, the contact, was readily available and polite via email and phone. While the installation was completed in a day, the roofers broke a hose attachment and some string lights by throwing debris off of the roof. We definitely should have removed the string lights ourselves, but the damage to the hose attachment was caused by roofers' carelessness. Brent offered to take the price of the lights and the attachment off of our bill if we wanted. The only other complaint we have is that the company claimed they would cover up our bushes and our air conditioner, but started the roof without doing so and had to be reminded when my husband went home for lunch to check on the progress of the installation.
Overall, the roof looks great and we are satisfied.

They came out and did a reasonable job. It was inexpensive. I don’t dislike anything about them. They are prompt and have a good price. We’ve been dealing with them for 15-20 years.

Every part of this transaction was handled with professionalism. Starting with the bid, the estimator was right on time, answered all my questions and provided some valuable suggestions on choice of shingles and felt. While not the lowest (not the highest either), their bid was very competitive and I felt more comfortable with their approach to the job as well as their ability to make good if I encountered any warranty items after the job was completed.
After I received the bid, I worked with Brent on shingle colors as I wanted the same color as the old roof. When we determined that the color was only available on an upgraded shingle I received the upgrade at no extra charge. Scheduling the job was a snap and the crew showed up early and got to work right away with demolition of the old roof. I had a chance to speak with the job foreman several times throughout the day and he was clearly very experienced and approachable. The job was finished late that afternoon and I was satisfied with the cleanup. I did find one roofing nail at the edge of the driveway and a few more on the roof but I sort of expected that given the nature of this sort of work.
Based on my experience, my neighbor ended up switching roofing contractors from a storm-chaser to Mississippi Valley. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

Outstanding company to work with - extremely professional, always prompt with their communication and email, and gave us a very competitive bid!  Ultimately, it was their professionalism and communication that won me out in the end when comparing very similar numbers between the 4 companies we were considering.  We even had a bit of a problem in that they were ready to start before we had even closed on the house, but they were more than willing to reschedule our job til the next day.  The gentleman who came to do the roof were very polite, hardworking, and professional - they worked until there wasn't a single ray of sunshine to see (2 day job).  We had MVR come out during the installation to make sure everything was going as planned and I appreciated that they even stopped by a few days later to make sure we were entirely satisfied with the work performed.  A real pleasure to work with this company and their workers!

VERY GOOD ESTIMATE AND FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH THE INSTALLATION.  DROPPED OFF  FULL SAMPLES (2X2 BOARDS) OF DIFFERENT COLORS BEFORE HAND. ALSO EMAILED ADDRESSES WITH THE DIFFERENT COLORS INSTALLED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.  ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS EXCEPT ONCE I CHOSE A COLOR, THEY HAD THE SHINGLES DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT TELLING ME ANYTHING, AS THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THIS IS MY HOUSE AND ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS I SHOULD ME NOTIFIED BEFOREHAND. THAT SAID, IT WORKED OUT FINE ALTHOUGH THE CREW WAS APPARENTLY MEXICAN AND I WAS UNABLE TO TALK TO ANYONE. HENRY CAME BY THE DAY  IT WAS PUT DOWN AND THE DAY AFTER TO ASURE I WAS SATISFIED. VERY THOROUGH IN THAT RESPRECT.

Very well. We have used this company before, also excellent then. They communicate clearly, stop by afterwards to see if work done to satisfaction. There is always someone to talk to in the office and all complaints are handled professionally. We had one small complaint, which is that we were charged for something extra without being consulted. When we called, Brent agreed to split the difference with us because we had not ok'd the work ahead of time. We thought this a fair compromise and would certainly work with the company again.

They respond quickly. After I called, they immediately came out and tarped the roof to keep damage down. They did a great job. You can hardly tell where the new work meets the existing work. They originally installed the roof about 13 years ago, and they did a very good job then. My only complaint would be that I wish they would've pointed out some of the areas that need additional work while they were up on my roof, for example, "I noticed that your chimney needs repaired." or "There's a gap in your gutters." They could be a bit more proactive.

I don't think this project could have gone any better.  I contacted them over a year ago to give me an estimate on some hale damage to my roof.  They were one of three firms I contacted for estimates. At the time I wasn't sure my insurnace would pay for it so I didn't go any further with the process.  
When I saw a few shingles had since come off my house I knew I had to get something done.  I called my insurance company (Electric Insurance - great) and they started the claim.  They sent out an independent appraiser the next day.  Not only are they replacing house roof but my garage also (I couldn't see any damage there, but they are the experts) and they are replacing gutters, metal sunroom roof and awnings.
I looked back on the bids I had been given a year ago (all selected from Angie's List) and Mississippi Valley Roofing was the lowest.  That is not the only reason I selected them.  I also looked them up with the BBB and talked with them on the phone.  Any of the three companies could have put a good roof on my house, but it was the way they treated me that got them the job.  They called when they said they would call, they answered every question I had with out "talking down" to me.
They sent an updated quote on Tuesday (11-12-13), I accepted it on Wednesday and the installed my roof on Thursday.  I don't think you can get better service than that.
The truck delivering the shingles was at my house about 8:00am, roofing crew was ripping off my existing roof by 9:00 and I never heard them stop working until around 3:00 when they left.  I was in and out checking out the progress throughout this time and I never saw anyone not working.  When they left I took a look around my property and my neighbor's property and you could not tell they had been there.  The only thing that gives it away is the beautiful new roof.
I would highly recommend Mississippi Valley Roofing.

The work was done very quickly and well.  The new skylight cut the heat load a lot!  We have used this company before for roofing and they are good, fast and efficient.

They did a fantastic job. They might have not been the cheapest in price however you get what u pay for. There are cheaper ones out their but many of them are not insured or bonded. So u can be liable for any injuries that occur on the jobsite which did happen with ours. The young man was back the next day working at a feverish pace. Youth was on his side. We had no issue with any type of claim from the roofer since they where insured and bonded.

The same as above. Then they cleaned up. We were not home. We had to call them back, because the spout was aimed the wrong way and needed to be reajusted. They came and fixed it right away. They also repaired our roof many years ago.

Over the past years we have continually had leaks on our roof, at one point it was leaking so bad that we literally had water running down our kitchen wall. It has come to the point that we began using another well established roofing company to repair the roof to eliminate the below standard quality of  work. Approx a year ago we gave Mississippi Roofing another chance to repair another leak that had developed. A Representative of Mississippi Roofing came out looked at the area where it was leaking and asked what we wanted them to do. I informed him we wanted the leak fixed after I informed him of all the other issues we have had in the past he became agitated, threw his equipment in the truck and drove off telling us not to call them again. My in-laws also have had a roof installed by Mississippi Roofing and they as well have had issues with their roof leaking. You can judge for you self if you want to take the chance.

I needed an entirely new roof on my flat-roof home in St. Louis City,
which had begun leaking in a few spots. I had used MVR for minor roof
repairs in the past so I called them, along with 2 other companies, for
an estimate. Estimates ranged from $5500 to $8500 and MVR was right in
the middle. Given my previous positive experience with them, I decided
it was worth the additional money. Within a couple of days of accepting
their bid, they were able to send a team out to replace the roof. The
contact person was always helpful and informative. The crew did a good
job of cleaning up their mess and the work was all completed in a single
day. I'm no expert on roofing, so it's hard to attest to the quality of
the work, but we got almost a foot of snow the next week and I had no
leaking problems. There were no surprise charges (in fact, they give a
2% discount if you pay in full with cash or check). My only complaint is
that they just called one morning at about 7am to tell me they were on
their way. Given that I like to be home when this kind of large-scale
work is done, I would have hoped at least for a call the night before so
I could plan accordingly. I understand that this is a weather-dependent
business, but I don't think it would be that difficult to give at least
a day's notice to say they'll probably be out tomorrow unless the weather
changes. But in the big picture, that's a pretty minor problem.
