We ordered new exterior doors from Wilke in July of 2020 and it’s now January of 2021 and the job is not yet complete. Wilke finally got around to installing our doors in December but they had mis-measured two of the entrance ways which required them to order/paint additional pieces. Wilke did send an apology note citing delays, the pandemic, and challenging business conditions but when the real problem is a failure to communicate I don’t see how any of these excuses are really relevant or acceptable. We were told we would have our new doors in 6-8 weeks and we can understand that there would be delays but if is wasn’t for me reaching out every two weeks to get updates, I’m sure we still wouldn’t have had any service and we’d still be wondering where our doors are. Despite me reaching out every other week, we still weren’t provided explanations or resolutions but were constantly told they would check and they would rarely follow up. I recommend not using Wilke for poor professionalism and terrible communication.

Overall: Good experience with only a couple of issues.  It took longer than expected to get our door.  When it was almost time for the door to be installed, Wilke blamed a third party saying "we were sent the wrong parts."  This led to a delay of several weeks. We ordered the doors on 08/24/2015.  They were installed on 12/22/2015.
Price: The price seemed fair.  I believe we paid full price, and we were cut no bargains, but that's how Wilke makes their living, so it is what it is.
Quality: The doors turned out beautiful, with only a couple of small blemishes.  Installers did an awesome job.
Responsiveness: They usually called me back same day.  There was one time when they said we'll call you by X date.  That date came and went, and we had to call Wilke, and that's when we found out there was going to be a delay.
Punctuality: Showed up at our house exactly when they said they would.
Professionalism: Conducted themselves as professionals.

I do have relationship with another window and door company and when they come out and take measurements and  that window or door doesn't fit, they take it back and redo it. Wilke Window took measurements and what they brought didn't fit. We should not have had to resize the windows to accommodate their errors. We even showed them a picture of one window in particular that was supposed to go over the sink in the kitchen and they delivered the wrong configured window. It was supposed to have two small casement windows on each side and a solid picture window in the middle. They brought a window with two huge casements  and no solid picture window. Even though they had set of drawing and they can clearly see on the drawings what it look like. They brought the wrong window and they would not take it back. They would not even discuss the matter with the contractor. I would not use them again in the future.  I would use Penny Window.

We looked at the door displays in the Fenton store and asked lots of questions there.  The person there was very professional and answered all our questions.  Eventually we decided to have them build us a door and side panels, both with decorative glass.   We made an appointment to have the measurement and designer person come to our home.  Guy came and took measurements and told us all of the options available, answered all of our questions and made suggestions.  He was terrific.  After going thru several catalogs, we picked out the decorative glass.  We chose a fiberglass door because it can show wood-like grain on the interior, which we wanted stained to closely match our new hardwood floor.  We picked out a color for outside of the door and panels, door hardware, etc.  Guy sent us the bid.  We sent the bid back signed and with a payment of about half of the total amount.  They said it would take about ten weeks to build the door, custom stain and paint the door.

They called us after about nine weeks and made an appointment to install the door.  The two installers arrived a little early, took out the old door and installed the new.  They did a great job.  The new door looks great.  We are very pleased with it.  And we were very pleased with Wilke.

I got bids from several contractors and Wilke was the clear choice. They gave me an excellent price for very high-quality windows.
I had a *lot* of questions about the installation process - you read a lot of horror stories out there about replacement windows failing after a few years, and my old windows were very high quality even though they were incredibly inefficient - but the Don, the estimator, was very patient and even came out to the house twice to help me understand the techniques they would be using. The new windows look great and really upgrade the house.
They do appear to use subcontractors to do the installation. I was happy with their work though.
