Upchurch Waterworks

INstallation went as we were told it would. No surprises.

John the technician arrived at the scheduled time and promptly got to work. He removed the old system and installed the new system. As part of the new install, he had to cut back some of the piping and when he repiped he attached the pipes to the basement wall to minimize the "banging" on the pipes that used to exist. When he completed all the work he did a great job cleaning and he then removed the old system. He throughly explained the operation of the system and said that if we had any questions that we could give him a call and he would either walk us through it over the phone or he would stop by the house. Great overall experience.

John and Cheryl were very helpful, personable, and professional from the very beginning. When I called to get an estimate for a water softener, Cheryl asked a few questions and explained that one of their best models was currently on sale and would work great for our needs. John then came over to the house to give a complete estimate. He explained how things would work and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want. They also sell reverse osmosis systems and when I told him I wasn't interested in that, he respected my position and never brought it up again. I asked about chlorine in the water here and told him that was a concern for me. He talked through my options and kept leading me to the least expensive means of accomplishing what I wanted. I greatly appreciated that! We talked through immediate versus long-term expenses and like I said, he tried to get me the best deal on only what I wanted and no more than that. On the day he came to do the install, he used only the highest quality materials and told me exactly how he was going to be proceeding and how long he thought he would take. He also arranged for and paid a contractor to come install the electrical outlet he would need for the softener. He then included that cost in my bill so I didn't have to write a separate check to him or deal with the other contractor at all. His quality of workmanship was truly above and beyond! This house had never had a softener before, so he had to add copper and other (pex, I think) piping. He even came upstairs to tell me he was about to begin soldering, so I would not be surprised if the smoke alarms went off (though they never did). In addition, he noticed one of my drain pipes from the upstairs had become disconnected at the basement ceiling. This had nothing to do with anything he was working on, he just saw it and told me it needed to be glued so it would not come apart again. Until we could get to it, he climbed up on his ladder and hand tightened it as best he could. His products were the same as from another hightly rated company I had quoted, but I feel much better about the quality of installation. His warranties on the products were the same, but he warrantied labor 3 years versus 1 year by others. I am very pleased we chose Upchurch!

Splendid!! John is great with the details, very professional and personable. We could not possibly be happier with the outcome. Best of all - no more bottled water! Woo Hoo!!!!!
