Jason came out to give me a bid for the epoxy injections. I had used his company two other times--once for another crack and once for the center basement supports--and was pleased. These epoxy injections also seemed fine, especially with the "lifetime guarantee." However, now the latest epoxy injection is getting a crack in it. Jason's The Foundation Doctor in Fenton is out of business. He started a new company, "3 Rivers Waterproofing."

The company delayed their work 4 months (from December to March); asked us to move air conditioning units to accommodate their work, which we did; took our ~$10,000 deposit, and then closed. They did not do the work or return our ~$10,000 deposit.

I had Foundation Dr. fix a crack in my foundation 3 years ago. A horizontal crack located on a wall totally covered by a garage. A crack that has never leaked. All I asked is for them to repair the crack so that it would look professionally repaired when we go to sell the house. Their answer, "No problem!" The job was accomplished while I was gone to work. When I returned, I was shocked at the quality. It seriously looked like a 5 year old did it. When I called the company about it, I was told that employee was no longer with the company and that they would send someone else out to redo it. They sent someone out and while it was not perfect, it was bearable. 3 years later, the crack had reappearred througfht the fix. I called Foundation Dr. again about this, they sent someone out to look it over, and agreed to repair it again. I know, I should have learned my lesson the first time, but the repair was done while I was gone at work. When I came home, I was totally disappointed again by the quality of work. The "fix" was totally noticeable. There were drips of material running down the wall to the floor. And then they left about 2 inches of the cracked showing, unrepaired. When I called, I was told that this was a good repair. Then, I was told that their warranty only covers if the repair leaks again. The crack NEVER leaked in the first place. So, now I have an unproffesional looking repair, with a warranty that doesn't cover if the crack continues to expand. In other words, The Foundation Dr. did not solve my problem, and has only added to it. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told that he wouldn't be calling me back. Sorry to hear that.

I hired them from your site in February of 2019. The owner Jason came out and gave me a bid of the foundation addition. I explained to him about how I was duped out of money from a family member that was a general contractor and he claims he was an honest business man and he will have the foundation done correctly. Everything was going good untill he never came to inspect the job his workers sometime didn't show up. I called him and had to ask him where are the workers. One worker had to finish the forming and pour the concrete by himself the house and the wall for the garage. I called and texts Jason and his workers several times and I got the same response ( no answer or the workers be there tomorrow or some lame excuse). I been very patient and I told Jason before I sign the contract that I don't like given bad reviews before giving a contractor a chance to redeem their business integrity and ethnic standards. My foundation concrete is the only thing that is done it's not have been gravel, backfill, waterproof or anything. It's now April 17, 2020, still have not heard from Jason at the Foundation Doctor but I got the text and call that they are doing work in Missouri doing inclement weather but took my money and didn't even finish the job at my house. I don't know what happened to his business ethics but I am very disappointed in him because I chose his business based on the reviews and his business motto. I was going to hired him to extend the foundation out a little more but after it's been over a year and nothing to protect the hole from the snow and rain. I'm done calling. I'm glad the other viewers had a better experience with this company than I expected and experience. The workers isn't the problem it's the owner of the company responsibility to make sure that the job is completed and the customer is satisfied with the work performance and I am highly dissatisfied and disappointed that I have to write a awful review.

"I am so sorry that you feel this way, From the first time i was there the drawings from your cousin were wrong, and then had to be fixed, they were not from an a professional. It was a very wet year last year after we got the hole dug out. We can not control the weather and i apologize for that, We removed a concrete driveway and repaired horizontal cracks on the home as well. We extended gutter downspout also free of charge to you because you did not have any on your home and the hole that was dug for the addition would keep filling up with water. We did the proper procedure as far as the permits and inspections that were needed. We have talked and text well over 100 times about your job and when we were gonna complete. We then received information that the addition that we had done was the wrong size and needed to be bigger because your cousin messed up the drawings that we had with the wrong footage. Then we waited on hearing back from you and the new architect that you hired, and then still did not hear anything back from either one of you. I then received a call from East [Member Information Removed] Louis Illinois building commissioner that you had filed a complaint with him about us, then once again he said he would let me know what we needed to do because he had to talk to you first about your complaint, we still have not heard back from anyone in over 2 months now. We need to back fill and waterproof with a vapor barrier, but the last we knew you were wanting it bigger so we have not done . Does not make any sense to do something and then have to tear it out because now it needs to be bigger because the first guy messed up from the beginning. We have taken money off the original repair and on hold until we finish the job. Please feel free to let us know when you, the architect, or the city commissioner, decides on the outcome.Once again I am sorry that you feel this way about The Foundation Doctor but i can not control what is not in my hands ma'am.Thanks again Jason Bauman Owner"

The Foundation Doctor is the right group of professionals to repair your basement walls, etc. Very responsive and professional. Our basement wall was leaning (!) plus cracks were leaking and those problems were quickly resolved. Jason is excellent for explaining both the problems and the best solutions. Plus their excellent work stabilizing my wall prevented much greater expense in the future. We were very impressed and pleased with the great work they performed for us.

These guys were polite, explained and showed us what they were doing, very professional and cleaned up everything, and there was a lot to clean up! We had taken bids with 3 companies and the other 2 were a bit cheaper, but they had that depth clause which could have wound up costing us every bit if not more if they had to go past a certain depth with the piers. We didn't want any added costs so we're glad we went with The Foundation Doctor. We were very impressed with them. The job was done by 3 men in 5 days.

So far so good. The real test will be the next long hard rain, which we haven't had since the repair. Was a little sloppy applying the epoxy to the wall.
Response from The Foundation Doctor
"Thank you for the review. I am sorry it looks a little sloppy, but the epoxy is hard to work with and make perfectly smooth. It sets up fast. Please let us know if there are any problems in the future when we start to get rain again. Thanks again Jason Bauman Owner"

The whole work crew was very professional and walked me through what they were doing each step of the way. As a novice, they were very patient in explaining how basement drain tile works and what it does. Josh the estimator, Joe the crew foreman and the owner of the company were all very professional, great service all around.

They did a good job. They were very knowledgeable in what they did. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. The pricing for the work was reasonable. The person they sent out to examine my situation knew what he was doing and was very informative about it. He knew what street creep was, and how it happens. Everything he said was true concerning the city code. They weren't trying to do any sales tactic shenanigans.

They did a good job overall. The floor looks really good. The only negative is they had to take out a step leading into the house and it tore some drywall off when they did it, so now I have to have that repaired. It took three days to complete the floor and another day the following week to install a new step. The workers were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. This is not the company's fault, but we left some things on some wall shelves in the garage, and they are now covered with dust. Should have thought that out a little better! I am pleased overall with the work done.
Response from The Foundation Doctor
"Thank you for the review and allowing my company to do the work for your family. I apologize about the drywall being damaged. I am glad that you like the new floor. The day I was there for the quote you were feeling under the weather, and then you received a chicken noodle soup delivery, and did not know who sent it. Hope you finally found out who delivered it. Two workers, here maybe four hours. They came and did what they needed to do. They showed it to me when they were finished, and looked fine. Left it cleaned, cleaned up after themselves. They were prompt, called me back, when I requested an bid, came out quickly, and schedule the service within two weeks, and they did the work.

I hired the Foundation Doctor to install a sump pump and drain around the perimeter of my basement. My home is a hundred years old with a stone foundation. I was assured that they had done such work before and they guaranteed the work. No water on the floor. After accepting the big and submitting a $2300 deposit I waited over two months for the job (I did know about the wait front). They did not call on the day of the job, they just showed up. Thank goodness I was there. The work seemed to go fine, but they left my basement a mess: tarps, dusty, rubble behind the furnace, rough concrete, torn drywall. I called to complain and they said no one could come out to fix the mess for three weeks! Then the rain came, and my basement still leaked. There was water the on the floor. I told them this and they seemed to think this was an anomaly. When it happened again they said they would send someone out. They never did. Instead they sent my account into collections. There is water on the floor because the drain is designed wrong. It is too close to the stone wall, which is uneven. When there is very heavy rains, and we have some leaking on the wall, the water is not going into the drain, as is was suppose to to, but on the floor. This is because in some places, the drain abuts right up against the wall, which it should do. I regret going with The Foundation Doctor. His price was a little cheaper than the bigger guys, but not by much. I'm paying for it now. I expected a dry floor. I have spend thousands and still have water in the basement.
Response from The Foundation Doctor
"I fell this review is FALSE!! When I came out there to give you the estimate for the waterproofing system I explained everything to you. I offered you the option of adding dry shield on the 100 year old stone foundation to allow any water that should come through the wall it would make it go into the drain tile system. You refused, because you had another company redo all of the tuck-pointing joints and you did not have any water coming through the walls anymore. With that I gave you the estimate for the drain tile system which will prevent any water coming up through the floor/ wall location. You contracted us to do the work on March 4 2016 and we scheduled the work to be done on April 25 2016. we sent you a final invoice on May 3 2016 for final payment. You called with a problem on May 16, we sent a repair tech out then. You called with a problem and we sent a guy out May 26. Still have not received final payment. We sent you multiple emails for final payment, multiple phone messages and did not hear from you until you called again and I met you at you home on Aug 11 2016! While there I explained to you that it is not our problem that the water is missing the drain tile that is coming through the stone walls. I have spaced our cove plate as far and much as possible for you That is the other company's repair that is leaking. I waived all late charges as well when I collected final payment 5 months later! I feel that the water problem that you were having should be addressed with the other company! Jason Bauman Owner"
