 + -1 moreWe wanted to show a slideshow during our reception and Swank quoted us over $600 for a package that includes rental of a laptop, a projector, a 5'x7' screen, and a "technician" to operate it. We felt this was outrageously overpriced. We ended up using our own laptop, borrowed a projector, and rented a 6'x8' screen (larger) for the entire weekend for $41. I thought I had successfully avoided being ripped off by Swank, but I was wrong. Literally 2 hours before our ceremony, I received a phone call from someone at Swank asking if we wanted our officiants to be mic'd. Of course I did. The cost? $671. Swank knew we were to be married months ahead of time, but they waited until the 11th hour to raise the issue of the mic when there was no way we could possibly find someone else. I'm sure that's why they neglected to mention it when we were discussing the slideshow. Swank Audio Visuals should change its name to "Shank Audio Visuals" to better reflect the way they take advantage of you and gouge you when you're not looking.
Description of Work: Swank Audio Visuals provides outsourced A/V services to hotels so they can offer these services to customers. I recently got married at the Four Seasons in Austin, TX and so I had the (dis)pleasure of dealing with Swank Audio Visuals for our A/V needs at our wedding. In the end, the only services rendered were wireless microphones and sound system at our ceremony.
