The quality of the work is incredibly inferior and I called him out on it several times. He has admitted to me that other customers of his have the same complaints, and since the first time the siding on my house blew off, the same thing has happened 5 separate times. I walked around my neighborhood and no other houses are having the issues I'm having, and they all hired someone else! I have also had issues with the facia blowing off on the second floor to my house, and when I told him about it, he said it wouldn't do a whole lot of good to put the facia back up because the facia board might be rotten and need to be replaced. I told him to tell me about any rotten facia so we can replace it, but he never mentioned anything until the facia started blowing off as well. I have also had issues with the windows installed by him. I had very tall windows installed and when I tried to open it, and the window came out and almost broke my thumb! Overall, the damages caused by this company will cost me thousands and thousands of dollars and he has made little to no effort to rectify the issues on my house.
Description of Work: After a tornado hit my home, I hired this company to replace all the windows, siding, gutters, fencing, soffets and facia.

Response from EVANS CONSTRUCTION
I was contacted to do work for Ms. Mary (Member) after completing a job next door. I provided her with a bid on February 7, 2011. Once the job was completed, Ms. (Member) contacted St. Evans on three different occasions to review complaints. First time, I arrived at her home to review was due to an area that my company had not properly fastened a piece of fascia corner and one pieced of siding. I fixed both areas at that time. This was approximately mid-September 2011. The second time Ms. (Member) called, I sent one of my employee’s Mike Carolyn to address the issue. Mike arrived at Ms. (Member)’s home in early October 2011, and her compliant was one piece of siding had come lose. Mike determined that the damage was due to wind. Mike fixed the lose siding at no additional charge to the homeowner. Mike has also reviewed the complete siding job and determined that it had been installed per to industry standards. The third contact was received roughly three weeks ago from Ms. (Member) stating her fascia cover had been blown off the fascia boards. After I arrived at her home two weeks ago to assess the damage, I found that the blown off fascia boards were due to her existing paper board material. I stated to the homeowner that prior to the start of the project that her existing fascia boards were made of a paper substance called “paper boards” and I suggested at that time this product could be a problem in the future. I also stated for her to let me know if she wanted me to change the fascia paper boards or leave as is. I received no response. When we initially installed the fascia to her existing paper board, it was installed per industry standards with stainless steel color match trim nails and 6 to 8 nails per 10 foot sections of fascia cover. After the third visit and conversing with Ms. (Member) about the paper board fascia, she agreed that the existing fascia paper board was a problem. She asked me to provide her a quote on replacing. Upon notice of an issue regarding the window from Ms. (Member), I immediately contacted my supplier to address. I have included an attachment from ABC Supply Company that provided all the material. This attachment addresses the issue with Ms. (Member) regarding the window. As you can see, all of Ms. (Member)’s issues have been addressed and handled. However, Ms. (Member) has decided to withhold $2,213.50 dating back to March 2011 from the final billing. The withholding of funds did not prevent ST Evans from addressing her issues and handling all matters. ST Evans has been in business for 17 years and has never received any major complaints with the Attorney General’s office and or the Better Business Bureau. Scott Evans, President ST Evans, Inc.
