Doug Stallman is the owner of Outdoor Wall & Patio. My wife and I are very pleased with his work. He built a 20 foot diameter round patio on a sloping hill behind our home with higher end Belgard Mega Lafitt pavers. It has a 45 foot long and 4 foot wide walkway from our back deck sloping down to the patio. This walkway curves gracefully to the left till it flares out to meet the round patio built on a leveled off portion of the hill. Another walkway leaves the other side with a similar flare narrowing down to 4 feet wide, curving gracefully to the right a total of 19 feet in length, again flaring out to meet the gravel driveway to our barn
at the bottom of the hill. There?s a 5 ½ foot diameter round stone fire pit, with steel heat shield around the inside circumference, that is offset from the patio center to allow a straight walking path along the walkways and through the patio. He found beautiful large stones on or property that he used to line a good portion of the patio and upper walkway. Smooth river gravel fills the space between the large stones and the edge of the pavers. He created some berms along the upper walkway to drain rain water around the patio, and create planting space for landscaping flowers and plants that are my wife?s area of expertise. He used six yards of topsoil on the downhill side of the patio and mulched the berms. Finally, he applied sealer to the pavers to protect them from the elements. I have to say that standing on our back deck and looking down on the finished patio with all the plants and flowers my wife added is a thing of beauty. The curves are graceful and calming.
