I appreciated the honesty and professionalism. I ended up hiring a different company that offered financing.

They visited my mother's apartment in advance to give an estimate and to take photos so they could replace her items in the new apartment as they had been.  On moving day they asked us to leave so my mother wouldn't trip while they were working.  They showed up on time at 8:30 am, packed everything in the old apartment including clothes, by 10:30 they were already bringing her furniture to the new apartment.  By 1:00 we saw the new apartment with everything put away in its normal spot, pictures on the wall.  Some of her furniture from the old apartment didn't fit in the new apartment so they agreed to take some to a consignment shop to sell and other items to a charity to donate. This is normal procedure for them and they already have solutions for these problems.   Throughout the process, the Home Sweet Home staff were polite, professional, respectful, patient and kind.  They are very experienced moving elderly people and understand that elderly people need the job done completely and with the least amount of disruption.

This was the worst move and I will not recommend them.  They were dreadful because I had to move my own house and my husband was not available and I don’t have children or relatives here and all that sort of thing.  I kept asking for help as far as packing and all of that.  One lady just didn’t advise me properly, and one of the thing that she was saying was crazy that I had a lot of clothes.  I am 77 and I still fit into my clothes and I rarely buy anything like a pair of socks or something.  She told me how to get rid of half of the clothes and that wasn’t helpful and it was just amazing thing that 4 women came to pack me but I did a lot of my own packing.  She should have given me advice about what really to pack and what not to.  We moved from 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment for senior residence and it is a wonderful apartment.  They had lunch in the house and then 4 guys showed up to move the heavy stuff.  They left their trash in the house.  I went back to the house 4 days after that and I don’t know what was in their minds.  I still have boxes that they have bought and I haven’t opened it.  It was just terrible.  It was too much money.  I don’t want to move again.
