This is an update to a previous positive review. What went well initially did not continue that way; things are FAR from positive now. They never finished my pool, took money from me for a water feature they never delivered, and left me holding the bag on numerous things. Here are the low points: - They abandoned the job in November, claiming they would return a pre-payment and repair a broken water line that flooded my yard. They have done neither, and I paid $3500 to fix the line; - They took $1600 for a waterfall feature, but never installed it or refunded the money; - Improperly winterized pool, causing heat pump piping, the chem system, and an in-line heater to freeze and crack. I am out a thousand dollars on those, and likely much more as the heat pump must be disassembled to reach the failed pipe section ; - The epoxy paint in part of the pool is peeling up, after less than a year; - The large pump for the infinity edge will not prime; - There are numerous small leaks in the piping; - They never caulked the exterior seems of the garage I paid them to build; - They left a pool entrance handrail in an ugly and unfinished condition; - They left piping uncapped on the ground during construction, and I wound up spending hours and hours sweeping up gravel, underwater, as the pumps gradually cleared it out. The dirt took more than a week to filter out of the water; - They would not show up for days, and sometimes weeks, without texting or calling (and not responding to such). Is Dustin coming today, snicker snicker, was a standard joke at my house every day. When here, they/he more often than not did not spend a full or even half day on site. It is no wonder that the three projects took more than a year and a half to complete; - They left me no manuals, no equipment vendor contacts, and worst of all, no piping diagrams or schematics of ANYTHING, despite promises of a nice binder with photos and operating information when the project was done; - They kept a gate and garage key, claiming they had mailed them back. They did not; As touched on above, I have spent the two last month fixing equipment and replacing failed items. I have taken photos of all of it, mainly for legal reasons. Much of this, in my estimation, is an attempt to recoup money lost to Dustin's father, acting as a third party labor and equipment supplier, in a tiff over billing. I refused to pay for a family squabble, but Firebird has made specific note of this in responding to my complaints to the BBB and the attorney general. They were also quite offended when, in November, after weeks of no progress on remaining items, I reminded them that my wife and I essentially jump-started Firebird with the pool, garage, and a fence project, and that we appeared to be has-beens to them now. Be very careful with these people; they have limited resources, and will ask for payment in advance or on very small increments of work. They are quite competent on straight concrete work, but I would not engage them on a sophisticated project if you can not finish it easily with another company. They might leave you like they did me, holding the bag and out a lot of money.
