COUNTY-WIDE TITLE INSURANCE

We needed a simple Title Search done for two properties. Supposedly everything went fine. When we went to retrieve our titles we found out that one of the properties had a $65,000.00 lein on it. When we researched it, the information was right there. The owner of the title company blamed the shoddy work on an ex employee who wanted to play more than work. They also tried to lay their sloppy work off on the tax collector himself. When all was said and done, it took the employee/owner another 2 weeks to actually produce a true search. That was also after calling the owner constantly and pushing for something to be done. Seems the employee/owner was too busy traveling all over doing closings on other projects to be concerned with our little title search. Since the first search was so messed up we asked him to re-do the second property. It has 2 leins against it. Granted we do not have million dollar projects all the time, but we do have at least 2 title searches done every year. At $200.00 + per search. Since this amount is below their standards we will gladly take our small buisness elsewhere. I did have the feeling they had better things to do than their job.
