I spoke directly to the owner, Patrick, about the problem. he checked with his employees and his brother Kelly was in the area and came right away. He knew exactly what to do and explained what the problem was. Repaired it in a timely matter. Wore boots inside of the house to make sure the house to remain clean, and did a outstanding job for a very reasonable price. I have used other plumbing businesses and i have always felt I have might have been overcharged. I would definitely recommend them to anybody, and I will be using them again in the future.
Came in, was prompt, did everything he needed to do. When he set the shower base, he said he would have to come back in a few days after the cement/plaster of paris that he set it in was cured to install the drain. When he did not call, I called him to remind and within two days a plumber was there to make it right. He apologized several times. I believe he got involved in another project and probably forgot. I have known Pat Brookman for over 20 years and I know him to be a person of great integrity and honesty. He also installed a Whole House Water Filter and a Water Cop Safety System for us a few years ago, and replaced our Water Heater about a year ago, so this is not the first time we have used his services His pricing is always fair and his service is excellent. He will do what he says. I would recommend highly.
On the last occasion when I needed his services, there was a lot of commotion in my home, because my furnace had gone out and my furnace guys were in the middle of bringing in and installing a new one when Patrick arrived. This man had to walk over furnace parts, etc., in order to get to the problem commode and do the job for which I had hired him. (He deserves a lot of credit for that.) Nevertheless, he is a easy-going spirit and took all the surrounding commotion in stride, going directly to his work, replacing a float, valve assembly, and new handle in my half bath commode. He always returns customers' calls quickly, and he always makes appointments within a short period of time, so as not to cause inconvenience to the homeowner. On only one occasion, I had to call him several times and leave messages for him to return my call, so I could schedule a repair, but he did not return my calls. That was a very, very unusual circumstance, and it never occurred at any other time. When I called him again, he could not have been more apologetic about not having returned my calls and took the blame for that, even though I wasn't upset about it. I did not expect an apology, and I was very much impressed that a business owner would be so forthright and honest, taking the responsibility for not having returned calls and making no excuses. That, alone, told me that he is a very decent and honorable man. (You will notice that unethical companies usually try to place blame on the customer if something goes awry when they render service to someone. Stay away from those companies, or you risk losses. Patrick Brookman will NEVER resort to such behavior.)
If you wish copper or other more expensive parts for any job, you will need to tell Patrick before he arrives for the job, and he will accommodate you with the more expensive parts. Otherwise, he will use standard parts that most plumbing companies use. I really appreciate that he will accommodate the homeowner in this manner, because more expensive parts, I have found, tend to last longer and are worth the additional cost.
Patrick Brookman does a very good job, and I will hire him for all my plumbing needs because of his impressive work and business ethics and because of his good integrity and character. In fact, I would trust him to do work in my home even if I weren't here. I still own my parents' house, and I will hire him to do work for me there, too. I have no doubt that he will do the same excellent job there that he has always done in the house where I do live. I have recommended him to many other people, and they have all been satisfied with his work. This man and his company deserve to get consumers' business. He is a gem to work with, and his prices are very reasonable, too.
(The ONLY reason I gave him a "B" rating for quality of work was because, on one occasion, an apprentice did some of the work, and he put a commode handle on quite crookedly. In all fairness, I did not tell Patrick about that, because it is such a small thing, and it makes no difference in the commode's functioning. Otherwise, Patrick's work is always of superior quality. If there were a rating of "A-", that is what I would have given his quality of work.)
