Propane Sales Services
$235
Ray came with a helper and set a rental gas tank, installed a gas line to the grill and a line to the outside wall of the shop. We had a regulator on our gas grill from our prior residence which Ray told us would save us some money since he did not have to supply it. Ray then installed the heater and gas line inside the shop to connect to the line outside the wall. We paid Ray the $235.00 he quoted us for the shop heater and installation. When the bill from Gasco arrived, the price billed for the line to the gas grill was double the amount quoted. There were also charges on the bill for items Ray used for the heater installation. We had already paid Ray for these items. We were also billed for the regulator which we provided. When we phoned the company, Rhonda Simmons, (wife of the owner) said she thought that the bill was a little high and that she would get back to us. Over a week went by and no one contacted us so we phoned again. We talked to Ed Simmons, the owner, who laughed and told us that you couldn't get anything for $400 these days. We told him that there were items on his bill which were used for the heater installation. We told him that we had already paid Ray for these items. We asked that he meet us at our residence and go over the installation. He told us that he was too busy to meet with us. We told him that we would pay the quoted amount for the installation of the gas line to the grill. He was not interested in discussing the discrepancies on the bill. He also said that whatever Ray had quoted was between Ray and us and not his problem. We then received a statement for the invoiced amount. We contacted an attorney who wrote Gasco a letter stating that we were only obligated to pay the quoted $400 and we would like to come to an agreement on the bill. He asked that Gasco contact him to work something out. Gasco never contacted our attorney. Shortly thereafter, Gasco arrived at our residence when no one was home and removed everything Ray and his helper had installed up to the shop wall. They even removed the regulator from our gas grill that we had provided. We received a statement for the full amount after they removed everything. We phoned Mr. Simmons and told him that we would not pay for something that they removed. They did not bill us again. Our attorney considered the matter closed. We purchased a propane tank from an individual and had another company set the tank and install a new gas line to the outside wall of the shop. When hooking up the new gas line to the heater line, we found out that someone had sprayed foam sealant into the heater line at the shop wall going into the shop. This plugged the line inside the shop for about 3 feet. Three feet of the line had to be replaced. We cannot prove who vandalized the line but someone who knew the gas line was there vandalized it. All in all it was a horrible experience. I do not recommend doing business with this company but If you do, be sure you get everything in writing and make sure that the owner signs your quote. In our case, the owner did not honor the quote given by his employee.
