Five L Painting and Remodeling

He said he had an opening and could start immediately if I was ready. He brought over a proposal on July 30, 2015 and said he would start the next day. I made the mistake of giving him a deposit and haven't seen him since. What a crook.

Work did not begin as he'd said.  Larry has not done any work at all.  The last we heard from him was an email March 21, 2014 in which he stated he'd schedule our work for mid- to late-April and would contact us mid-April to let us know.  Never heard from him again.  In mid-May we withdrew permission for him to preform the work and requested our deposit returned.  We have not heard anything since then.

I was called back two days after I initially left a message and was told he would come and look at the problem that day.  He never showed. I called back twice and left messages and he has not called back. I should have known when his voice mail just has the robot voice for the phone number and doesn't even say a name or business.

This "company" is listed on BBB with an F and two unresolved complaints. One dealing with unreturned phone calls after a bad paint job.

At least I didn't have anything done. Beware!!

Larry stared work about one month after we paid our deposit of $1,845.  He was friendly and polite as were his employees.  He went over the work with me after it was done.  He really wanted me to point out any flaws or misses.  There were a few windows that were not completely scraped so Larry fixed the ones I pointed out.  Also there was a variation in the paint sheen on the sides of the house near the top and a small spot on the back.  He also repainted that himself right away.  Then we went over that work as well.  He even fixed a spot I hadn't seen.  Sometimes we didn't see anyone for a few days but then they'd be back.  We weren't really in a hurry so that did not bother us.

I specifically told Larry Bultmann that he could begin painting the house when ready,  but once he began I wanted him to finish in a timely manner.  They started prepping the house in March 2013 and then let it set until they painted in June.  He missed an area on my chimney that my roofer noticed and some paint on the front stucco began flaking within weeks. Larry finally returned my phone calls around July 1st and said he would be out to address it the following weekend.  I called several more times and he retuned my calls weeks later, saying he would be by that week (September 2013).  The problems have still not been addressed (Oct 7, 2013) and Larry does not return my phone calls.  Someone I know called him for a quote and Larry returned that call within 5 minutes.
Do not use Larry Bultmann or Five L Painting as he lacks integrity and has proven to be unreliable.  He will start your job (so he knows he has your business) and then move onto something else.

10/13/13 - update:  I searched for Larry Bultmann in Missouri case.net and his name appears many times for various types of lawsuits.
