This person passed himself off as someone who knew how to install a roof and that he had a truck and trailer at his disposal. When it came time to purchase materials, he had no way to haul them and one of MY friends' husbands purchased and brought the materials to HIM. The first day he came to start on the roof he brought his son and brother-in-law to help him, but they worked unsupervised and now the roof on the back of the house is in shoddy shape (i.e. shingles are not lined up straight and looks uneven to the eye.) The weather turned cold and stayed that way for a few days. When it was warm enough to start again he did not show up and I called and left messages on his phone; he did not respond and after the fourth day I left a nasty message on his phone. He showed up on Sunday the 13th with his son and daughter in tow and had them to clean up the mess he left in the yard and he is on the roof putting the shingles on top of the old ones instead of removing the old ones, putting tar paper on and then the new shingles! When he is finished with the shingles there will be a stovepipe rain cap to put back on,,,,,who knows yet if this will be installed properly????? Time will tell,,,,,, The end to this saga will be posted when he says he is finished!
