Rentals - Parties
My overall experience with Weiser tent rentals in Hollister Missouri was extremely disappointing, to say the least. The day of the wedding there were not enough linens for all the tables. We ended up having to use a paper towel type table cloth on one of the tables. Also, the tables were not the same height (which they said they would be). This was important because the tables were set up end to end in a line of 5-6 tables. Weiser knew the layout of the tables and we had discussed the height of the tables. All of this I was willing to overlook, until after the wedding we were charged a $250 fee for the damage of 5 linens! $50 for each linen!!! Apparently they were incapable of getting food or wine stains out of linens. One had a burn hole which I understand needed to be replaced. We were willing to pay for the replacement of ALL the linens, but we thought $50 a linen was outrageous. When we called Amber to discuss this with her, she backed up her policy (which was not in the contract), and was completely unwilling to work with us. We insisted that she send us the invoice from her supplier to see the actual cost of the linen. It was $13. She had asked her supplier to include overnight shipping on the invoice. this cost $120. We called her supplier and he said she had never needed overnight delivery before, so we assumed she asked him to include it to justify the $250 fee. Though even with the overnight shipping fee it, the total came to $180...still a far cry from $250 that she was asking.
For a long time we were very kind and made it clear that we would gladly pay a fair price to replace the linens. But when we realized she was being sneaky with the supplier we were very upset.
She said she needed the linens for the upcoming weekend so she needed them overnighted...keep in mind that by this time, it was two weeks after the wedding, so if she new that 5 linens were damaged and she needed them for an upcoming event, she had two weeks to do so. And if your company is so understocked that 5 linens puts the supply under the demand, then that's ALSO poor planning on the company's part, and the client should not be held responsible.
In the end, Amber stood by her policy of price gauging. We ended up paying $13 a linen, and the wedding venue ended up paying her shipping. Poor poor customer service overall. And outrageous replacement fee policy.
