the Groom Room hair & nails

I asked around for recommendations on a place to take my toddler son for his first haircut, and Groom Room was the answer.  Everyone had had great experiences with Amanda Garnatz, who is even known as the Kid Whisperer.  And no wonder!  Amanda is amazing.  First, she has a special room filled with toys where kids can play as they wait (not that we've ever waited more than a few minutes).  Then they get to sit in a special car chair for the haircut, and Amanda provides a snack and cartoons which are a great distraction.  And Amanda sets immediately to work!  She doesn't try to make the toddler's head stay steady and she seems to have endless patience, but she is so fast that it's done before they even know what is happening.  And it's a great haircut every time!
I took my child here for his first haircut, and he had no tears and no fear.  We've been back for his haircut every 6-8 weeks since then, and it is a great experience every time.
(Just FYI: the car chair is only available for those under 3yo.)
Amanda runs the whole show seamlessly with appointments booked through a website and plenty of time set for each appointment.  I have been very pleased with the haircuts and the price is reasonable especially since there's no hassle, no toddler fear, no stylist frustration, just easy peasy all around.
I recommend the Groom Room to any parent who asks me.

Amanda was excellent with the little one. We have been living in Columbia since past 1 year and I kick myself for not coming to her earlier. She's an excellent stylist. And above all her salon is excellent. The kids get royal treatment there. First they get to pick up which movie they want to watch while getting their hair cut then they get to choose which juice they would like to sip on while getting the hair cut. 
My son is always reluctant to go to new hair stylist, so we dread his hair cut times. But nothing like that happened with Amanda. It was a painless & joyful experience both for him & myself.
