I used Justin Owens for a number of jobs when we first purchased this home, and now that we are selling, we called him to do some spot work around the house to get it ready for showing. Justin is amazing! He comes in and does all kinds of work in just a few hours. Since he works so fast, it doesn't cost much. I don't know what his hourly rate is, but it's obviously very reasonable for me to just pay $300 for a "day" of work. When we bought the home a few years ago, we had him put in a railing for a stairwell that he had to build from scratch. He also stripped and stained our back deck, and some other things I don't recall--I think some electrical and painting. I know he (and some other guys) just did a full restoration on a famous Tudor home in a country club area featured in a movie last year. I infer from this that he can do big restoration/remodeling jobs as well as small ones (his card says "general contractor") but I don't have any personal experience with that. The reason I'm doing an Angie's List review now--as opposed to 3 years ago--is that when I used him before he worked full-time hourly for my realtor. Now he runs his own business. By the way, the number is his cel, so you can text him. He is very busy, so don't expect same-day service or anything like that. I believe it took him about 3-4 days to work me into his schedule. Once he scheduled, he was on time.
